CO2 production is a measure of the metabolic rate and this is related to weight of animals and development of crops which can often be determined by weight. There is illustrated a poultry rearing house having vents, lights and an air heater. CO2 sensors are connected to a CO2 controller and in turn to a central controller. To test the increase in CO2 production over time, the birds are settled into a passive state with no feed and the lights turned off. The level of CO2 produced is measured. The vents are closed. After a time, the rate of Co2 produced is measured and the increase calculated.

The present invention relates to systems and methods for calculating a segment's sensitivity to price changes. A histogram distribution is generated for transaction frequency by price as the initial part of the sensitivity analysis. The shape of this histogram may be used to extrapolate a sensitivity measure. This can be done in two distinct ways: statistical regression or slope approximation. For statistical regression, the inverse of the cumulative distribution function is first calculated. The slope of this function is determined to be the sensitivity; the steeper the curve the more sensitive the segment is to price changes. The disk launcher system generally includes a platform having an upper surface, a biasing member attached to the platform adapted to apply a biasing force to a disk positioned on the platform to launch the disk from the platform, a catch member movably positioned with respect to the platform adapted to selectively engage the disk, and a timing post extending upwardly from the upper surface of the platform that forces the disk to move to a side of the timing post after being released by the catch member resulting in rotation of the disk. A trigger may be connected to the catch member to allow for selective movement of the catch member by a user. A cover may also selectively cover a portion of the platform to help protect the user and guide the disk.

A pipeline branch arrangement that forms a piggable-Y at the intersection with the trunkline and is oriented vertically relative to the trunkline. The approach piping to all legs of the piggable-Y are configured to incorporate 3D bend or larger radii as required. This arrangement permits the passage of foam pigs, hard pigs, and smart pigs. Rotation of the piggable-Y to the vertical plane configures all of the branch piping in the vertical plane, which permits the support sled width for pipe laying to be kept to a minimum. The arrangement of the 3D bends fore and aft of the piggable-Y aligns the trunkline ends in a co-linear manner. This permits the configuration to be installed by conventional S-Lay techniques.
