Systems and methods for improved cuttings measurements are described. Embodiments of the invention compare real-time, continuous measurements of cuttings coming over shakers to predictions of the amount of cuttings expected to be coming over the shakers. According to some embodiments, when the actual, real-time measurements differ from the predicted estimates, a warning alarm is sounded or displayed. Such alarms may indicate that corrective actions should be taken in order to optimize drilling conditions. 1. A method for improved cuttings measurements in drilling operations , the method comprising:rotating a helical screw in a trough at a first speed;measuring a first weight of a cuttings mixture within the trough;measuring a first torque required to maintain rotation of the helical screw at the first speed through the cuttings mixture;calculating a difference between the first torque and a second torque required to maintain rotation of the helical screw at the first speed through a second weight of natural cuttings equal to the first weight.2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the cuttings mixture comprises at least one of drilling fluid and discharged cuttings.3. The method of claim 2 , further comprising:determining at least one of a percentage of the discharged cuttings in the cuttings mixture and a percentage of the drilling fluid in the cuttings mixture, using the difference between the first torque and the second torque.4. The method of claim 3 , further comprising:calculating a third weight of the discharged cuttings using the first weight and the percentage of the discharged cuttings in the cuttings mixture.5. The method of claim 4 , further comprising:determining a fourth weight of predicted cuttings output.6. The method of claim 5 , further comprising:comparing the third weight to the fourth weight.7. An analysis tool that use ultraviolet wavelengths of oil fluorescence to analyze drill cuttings. An oil fluorescence tool includes an ultraviolet light source which directs ultraviolet light toward drilled cuttings. The interaction of the light and cuttings results in fluorescence emanating from the oil. The invention provides various apparatus and methods for aerosolizing a powdered medicament. In one exemplary embodiment, an apparatus includes a pressurization cylinder, and a piston which is slidable within the cylinder to pressurize a gas. A handle is coupled to the piston and is movable between an extended position and a home position to pressurize the gas. An aerosolizing mechanism is included and is configured to aerosolize a powdered medicament that is held within a receptacle with pressurized gas from the cylinder. A carriage assembly is included to receive the receptacle and to couple the receptacle to the aerosolizing mechanism. A first and a second interlock are operably engageable with the carriage assembly to prevent coupling of the receptacle with the aerosolization mechanism. The first interlock is released to allow movement of the carriage upon movement of the handle to the extended position. The second interlock remains engaged if the receptacle is only partially inserted into the carriage assembly.

A first and a second interlock are operably engageable with the carriage assembly to prevent coupling of the receptacle with the aerosolization mechanism. The first interlock is released to allow movement of the carriage upon movement of the handle to the extended position. The second interlock remains engaged if the receptacle is only partially inserted into the carriage assembly.

Η παρούσα εφεύρεση σχετίζεται με διάφορες συσκευές και μεθόδους για την παραγωγή ενός ψεκαζομένου αερολύματος αποτελούμενο από μία φαρμακευτική ουσία σε μορφή κονίας. Σε μία υποδειγματική ενσωμάτωση, μία συσκευή αυτού του τύπου περιλαμβάνει έναν πεπιεσμένο κύλινδρο, και ένα έμβολο το οποίο μπορεί να ολισθαίνει εντός του κυλίνδρου αυτού έτσι ώστε να συμπιέζει το περιεχόμενο εντός αυτού αέριο. Μία χειρολαβή συνδέεται με τον κύλινδρο και μπορεί να μετακινείται μεταξύ μίας εκτεταμένης θέσεως και μίας θέσεως αναπαύσεως ή ανακλήσεως έτσι ώστε να συμπιεστεί το περιεχόμενο αέριο. Ένα πρώτο και ένα δεύτερο σύστημα διασυνδέσεως μπορούν να εμπλέκονται λειτουργικά με το σύστημα μεταφοράς έτσι ώστε να αποτρέπεται η σύζευξη του δοχείου με τον μηχανισμό παραγωγής αερολύματος. Το πρώτο σύστημα διασυνδέσεως απελευθερώνεται έτσι ώστε να επιτρέπεται η μετακίνηση του συστήματος μεταφοράς ως συνέπεια της μετακινήσεως της χειρολαβής στην εκτεταμένη θέση αυτής. Το δεύτερο σύστημα διασυνδέσεως παραμένει εμπλεκόμενο στην περίπτωση που το δοχείο εισάγεται μόνο μερικώς εντός του συστήματος μεταφορέως.

Systems and methods for improved cuttings measurements are described. Embodiments of the invention compare real-time, continuous measurements of cuttings coming over shakers to predictions of the amount of cuttings expected to be coming over the shakers. According to some embodiments, when the actual, real-time measurements differ from the predicted estimates, a warning alarm is sounded or displayed. Such alarms may indicate that corrective actions should be taken in order to optimize drilling conditions.

A method and system for improving cuttings measurements in drilling operations includes rotating a helical screw in a trough at a first speed, measuring a first weight of a cuttings mixture within the trough, measuring a first torque required to maintain rotation of the helical screw at the first speed through the cuttings mixture, and calculating a difference between the first torque and a second torque required to maintain rotation of the helical screw at the first speed through a second weight of natural cuttings equal to the first weight.
