A plasma energy field is generated within the plasma furnace by causing an electrical discharge between a pair of arc rods located within the plasma furnace and positioned above the coal. Hydrocarbons contained within the coal are separated from the coal by causing the plasma energy field to penetrate the coal and heat the coal to a temperature sufficient to liquefy the hydrocarbons by focusing and drawing the plasma energy field through the coal with a magnetic field created proximate to the coal. The liquefied hydrocarbons are then captured.

The method comprises the steps of measuring temperature at the compressor (1) inlet and/or outlet side, measuring pressure at the compressor (1) inlet and outlet side in order to determine a compressor pressure ratio, measuring fluid mixture density at the compressor (1) inlet and/or outlet side, measuring individual volume fractions of gas, water and non- aqueous liquid at the compressor inlet and/or outlet side, measuring fluid velocity at the compressor inlet and/or outlet side, determining individual flow rates of gas, water and non-aqueous liquid on the basis of the measured individual volume fractions of gas, water and non-aqueous liquid and the fluid velocity at the compressor inlet and/or outlet side, based on the determined individual flow rates of gas, water and non-aqueous liquid, determining an actual fluid mixture total volumetric flow rate of gas and liquid at the compressor inlet and/or outlet side, and on the basis of the determined compressor pressure ratio and the determined actual fluid mixture total volumetric flow and/or the measured temperature and/or the measured fluid mixture density at the compressor (1) inlet and/or outlet side according to steps a-g, controlling (7, 8) a recirculation valve position of at least one recirculation valve (5, 6) arranged between the inlet and outlet side of said compressor (1) in order to ensure that the compressor does not enter into a surge regime.

In some embodiments, fugitive tows (26, 28) are incorporated into the lattice for subsequent removal to form the passages. The passages, however formed, are subsequently entirely filled with ceramic slurry, with exception of intentionally formed cooling passages. In other embodiments, tows forming the preform are impregnated with the ceramic slurry prior to or during their weaving and/or braiding into a 3-D preform. The 3-D preform is then solidified.

A colour display tube (1) is disclosed having an improved suspension system of the colour selection electrode (12). The positional stability of the colour selection electrode (12) is of eminent importance for the colour purity of the colour display tube (1). If the colour selection electrode (12) slightly shifts, the electron beams (7,8,9) may impinge on electroluminescent material of the wrong colour, leading to discolourations. It is recognized that this positional stability is improved by applying free end portions (22) of a smaller diameter on the supporting elements (17) because this will lower the friction between the free end portions (22) and the suspension means (20). This smaller diameter has the disadvantage that the insertion of the colour selection electrode (12) into the display window (3) of the colour display tube (1) becomes more difficult. This invention solves this problem by applying free end portions (22), which are provided with a centring tip (44). In order to prevent scratches - which lead to loose particles in the colour display tube (1) - when the colour selection electrode (12) is inserted or extracted, the free end portion (22) is smoothly shaped.

Elektropneumatisches Regelventil (1), insbesondere elektropneumatischer Zwei-Kreis-Bremswertgeber in einem Druckluftbremssystem eines Fahrzeugs, zum Ausregeln eines einer gewünschten Bremswirkung entsprechenden Bremsdrucks in einem ersten Bremskreis und in einem zweiten Bremskreis, mit einem in einem oberen Gehäusebereich (2a) und einem mittleren Gehäusebereich (2c) eines Regelventilgehäuses (2) angeordneten pedalbetätigbaren ersten Ventilsystem (10), mit einem in einem unteren Gehäusebereich (2b) des Regelventilgehäuses (2) angeordneten pneumatisch und/oder mechanisch durch das erste Ventilsystem (10) betätigbaren zweiten Ventilsystem (11), bei dem im ersten Ventilsystem (10) ein Ventilkolben (3) in dem Regelventilgehäuse (2) angeordnet ist, welcher mittels eines Stößelkolbens (8) gegen eine Federkraft axial verschiebbar ist, bei dem in einer Aufnahmevorrichtung (14) im Bereich des Stößelkolbens (8) oder des Ventilkolbens (3) des ersten Ventilsystems (10) ein elektrischer Schalter (17) zum Registrieren des Betätigungsbeginns des Regelventils (1) und/oder ein Wegsensor (18) zum Ausgeben eines elektrischen Wegsignals zum Registrieren des Betätigungsweges des Stößelkolbens (8) angeordnet sind, und bei dem der elektrische Schalter (17) und/oder der Wegsensor (18) an eine elektronische und/oder elektromechanische Messeinheit (13) angeschlossen sind. Bei diesem Regelventil (1) ist vorgesehen, dass die elektronische Messeinheit (13) als anwendungsspezifische Untereinheit eines elektronisch geregelten Bremssystems ausgebildet sowie in einem teilweise geschlossenen Elektronikgehäuse (7) angeordnet ist, und dass das Elektronikgehäuse (7) auswechselbar mit der Aufnahmevorrichtung (14) verbindbar ist.
