The present invention provides an improved multi-layer composite of two or more polymeric layers at least one of which is formed from a thermosetting composition. A polyurea composition, a multi-component composite coating and articles formed therefrom, and methods of forming the same are disclosed. The coating composition is formed from a reaction mixture comprising an isocyanate-functional component and an amine-functional component. The ratio of equivalents of isocyanate groups to equivalents of amine groups is greater than 1 while the volume mixing ratio of the isocyanate-functional component to the amine-functional component is capable of being applied to a substrate at 1:1.
