A coated optical element has at least six contact points not all in a same plane. Each contact point is an optical point of contact. Adjacent contact points subtend an angle between about 25 to about 35 degrees at a center of the coated optical element. 1. A coated optical element having at least six contact points not all in a same plane , each contact point being an optical point of contact , wherein adjacent contact points subtend an angle between about 25 to about 35 degrees at a center of the coated optical element.2. The coated optical element of claim 1 , wherein the coated optical element has at least twelve contact points.3. The coated optical element of claim 1 , wherein adjacent contact points subtend an angle of about 30 degrees at the center of the coated optical element.4. The coated optical element of claim 3 , wherein for each contact point claim 3 , the contact point and a closest adjacent contact point subtend an angle of about 30 degrees at the center of the coated optical element.5. A three-dimensional array of optical elements claim 1 , each optical element being a coated optical element according to . This application is a Divisional patent application Ser. No. 15/105,949, filed Jun. 17, 2016, now allowed, which is a national stage filing under 35 U.S.C. 371 of PCT/US2014/070507, filed Dec. 16, 2014, which claims the benefit of Provisional Patent Application No. 61/921,238, filed Dec. 27, 2013, expired, the disclosures of which are incorporated by reference in their entirety herein. The present invention is related generally to methods of coating. In particular, the present invention is a method of applying a coating onto uniformly shaped and sized articles. In a remotely illuminated phosphor package, light from one or more ultraviolet or blue pump LEDs is imaged by a hemispherical lens onto a phosphor-containing layer that is approximately adjacent and coplanar to the LEDs. Excellent color uniformity for a single LED, and within a lot of LEDs ...
