A method for mapping shear wave velocity in biological tissues includes using an ultrasound transducer to generate mechanical excitations at a plurality of locations in a region of interest. An MRI system is used to capture a phase image of each mechanical excitation, wherein motion encoding gradients (MEGs) of the MRI system encode a propagating shear wavefront caused by the mechanical excitation. A plurality of shear wave velocity maps is generated based on the phase images, wherein each shear wave velocity map depicts velocity between adjacent propagating shear wavefronts. The preauthorization knowledgebase system parses relevant information from an order submitted by a health care provider and compares that information against a set of rules used to determine whether preauthorization is required for a medical service specified in the order. The rules are arranged into various hierarchical levels from payer level to procedure level. Even if the order is incomplete, the preauthorization knowledgebase system checks as many of the hierarchical levels as possible with the information provided. The preauthorization knowledgebase system returns a result indicating whether preauthorization is required for the order and, optionally, the hierarchical level(s) requiring preauthorization. 1. One or more tiles are then positioned adjacent the first tile so that a portion of the connector adheres to the adjacent tiles. In this way, the connectors span adjacent tile edges. The tiles are assembled on an underlying flooring surface without the need to attach them to the floor surface. Rather, the tiles are linked to each other with the connectors, so that the tiles create a floor covering that “floats” on the underlying floor surface. ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Described herein are compositions and processes for preparing molded articles wherein shrinkage is substan-tially avoided by providing a thermosetting composition which foams during cure, resulting in articles with very smooth surfaces and which are weatherable. In one aspect, the invention comprises a thermosettable composition com-prising: (A) from about 20% to about 70% by weight, based on said composition, of an unsaturated monomer; from about 1% to about 50% by weight, based on said composition, of (B) a thermoplastic polymer soluble in said unsaturated monomer; and from about 10% to about 40% by weight, based on said composition, of (C) a polyunsaturated crosslinking monomer, the amount of (C) being sufficient to cause the cured thermoset resin molded under heat and pressure from said composition to have an optically heterogeneous appear-ance due to foaming during cure, and a density significantly less than the theoretical density if unfoamed. Also provided is a process for preparing fiber-reinforced foamed thermoset moldings comprising the steps of (? preparing a composition comprising from about 20% to about 70% by weight, based on said composition, of (A) an unsaturated monomer; from about 1% to about 50% by weight, based on said composition, of (B) a thermoplastic polymer soluble in said unsaturated monomer; from about 10% to about 40% by weight, based on said composi-tion, of (C) a polyunsaturated crosslinking monomer; and (D) a fibrous reinforcing agent selected from the class of materials consisting of fiberglass, sisal fibers, asbestos fibers, cotton fibers, nylon fibers, polyester fibers, poly-propylene fibers, quartz fibers, beryllium fibers, boron fibers and carbon fibers; and then (2) curing said composition at a temperature ranging from about 200°F to 350°F and under pressure in a mold; the amount of component (C) in said composition being sufficient to cause foaming, substantial reduction of density below theoretical ...

By the use of the new and novel ophthalmic fitting frame and removable nosepieces in combination with the new and novel methods herein disclosed, the optometrist or the like is able to properly fit the eyeglass user with a combination of lens, frame and removable nosepieces which may then be ordered by the user in his particular color and style according to his individual taste.

Connectors for joining adjacent modular floor covering units. Embodiments of the connectors include a film and an adhesive layer coated on one side of the film. The connectors can have a conductive component that allows electrical continuity to be maintained between adjacent tiles. In yet another embodiment, the connectors can be equipped as radio frequency identification tags by including radio frequency transponders. To install tiles using the connectors, a first tile is placed on the floor and a connector is positioned so that the adhesive layer faces upward and does not contact the floor. The connector is typically positioned so that only a portion of the adhesive layer adheres to the underside of the tile, leaving the remainder of the connector extending from the underside of the tile. One or more tiles are then positioned adjacent the first tile so that a portion of the connector adheres to the adjacent tiles. In this way, the connectors span adjacent tile edges. The tiles are assembled on an underlying flooring surface without the need to attach them to the floor surface. Rather, the tiles are linked to each other with the connectors, so that the tiles create a floor covering that 'floats' on the underlying floor surface. Additionally, the tiles need not be installed directly on the floor surface. Rather, an underlayment, such as a film or cushion or cushion composite, may be positioned on the floor surface prior to the installation of tiles.

A novel, improved ophthalmic device which comprises a unique fitting eyeglass frame having a removable nosepiece attachment which may be adjusted to permit adjustment of the lens to an exact eyelevel. The removable nosepiece attachment is pivotably connected to the ophthalmic frame, which allows a front-to-rear adjustment of the nosepiece on the ophthalmic frame, and the subject invention provides for a much improved pivotable connection between the nosepiece and the ophthalmic frame which may be rigidly locked in place by the novel use of a shim or friction member in combination with an extention of a female receptacle positioned in each side of the one piece nosepiece. Also disclosed is a device which is utilized for forming the removable nosepiece by forming a molded impression of a portion of a person's nose with the impression being used to then form the nosepiece for the person's eyeglass frames. The molded impression device comprises generally a mold for retaining a predetermined quantity of a molding substance along with a frame for retaining the mold and means for removably attaching the mold to the frame. There is also disclosed the mold for using with the molding device as well as the method for forming a molded impression with a molding substance of a portion of a person's nose for use in forming the removable nosepiece of the subject invention.

Un método para preparar un material de tabaco con niveles reducidos de lignina y compuestos nitrogenados, que comprende: (a) poner en contacto un material de tabaco con un primer disolvente acuoso a una temperatura de 60ºC a 80ºC, durante 0,5 a 1 hora, para proporcionar un extracto (15) de tabaco, acuoso y una porción (16) de fibra o lámina de tabaco; (b) separar dicho extracto de tabaco, acuoso, de dicha porción de fibra o lámina de tabaco; (c) poner en contacto a una temperatura de 25ºC a 120ºC dicha porción de fibra o lámina de tabaco con una disolución que contiene peróxido de hidrógeno y un hidróxido de metal alcalino, en que dicha disolución contiene dicho peróxido de hidrógeno en una concentración de 2,5% a 12,0% (p/p) y dicho hidróxido de metal alcalino es de 1% a 5% (p/p) y (d) separar dicha disolución de dicha porción de fibra o lámina de tabaco.

Connectors for joining adjacent modular floor covering units. Embodiments of the connectors include a film and an adhesive layer coated on one side of the film. The connectors can have a conductive component that allows electrical continuity to be maintained between adjacent tiles. In yet another embodiment, the connectors can be equipped as radio frequency identification tags by including radio frequency transponders. To install tiles using the connectors, a first tile is placed on the floor and a connector is positioned so that the adhesive layer faces upward and does not contact the floor. The connector is typically positioned so that only a portion of the adhesive layer adheres to the underside of the tile, leaving the remainder of the connector extending from the underside of the tile. One or more tiles are then positioned adjacent the first tile so that a portion of the connector adheres to the adjacent tiles. In this way, the connectors span adjacent tile edges. The tiles are assembled on an underlying flooring surface without the need to attach them to the floor surface. Rather, the tiles are linked to each other with the connectors, so that the tiles create a floor covering that "floats" on the underlying floor surface. Additionally, the tiles need not be installed directly on the floor surface. Rather, an underlayment, such as a film or cushion or cushion composite, may be positioned on the floor surface prior to the installation of tiles.

Handles attachable to a snowmobile and stowable/extendable and angularly adjustable. In a preferred embodiment the handles, when extended, extend rearwardly from the snowmobile and are positioned so that grips on the extended ends of the handles are generally at hand height of a standing person. The handles make it possible to lift and maneuver the rear end of the snowmobile with significantly less force than needed for handling the snowmobile directly. When stowed, the handles are locked in the stowed state. The attachment of the handles to the snowmobile allows angular adjustment of the positions of the handles relative to the snowmobile to make the handles more useful and accessible when the snowmobile is in an awkward position. The handles may be dismounted and used in attachment apparatus at the forward end of the snowmobile, the apparatus being built in or added on.

A color shifting multilayer interference film (10, 30) is provided which may be used to produce flakes for use in colorants having color shifting properties. The flakes can be interspersed into liquid media such as paints or inks which can subsequently be applied to objects or papers to achieve color variations upon shifts in angle of incident light or upon shifts in viewing angle. Resonant nanostructures (RNSs) are provided in one embodiment of the present invention. RNSs may be nano- to micro-scale structures that resonate at specific frequencies through the application of an electromagnetic or acoustic stimulus. Resonant nanostructures provide new tools for diagnosing and treating disease. Resonant activation (RA) is also provided. RA may be a method of stimulating targeted chemical compounds, or nano- or micro-scale structures, in vivo and/or in vitro, to induce a response therefrom. Some RNSs include cavities that are configured to carry a payload. The resonant response of the target may include resonating, fracturing of the structure, and exposing or releasing of a payload. At each face of the outer race member is a pair of diametrically opposed segmental slots. The diametrically opposed slots in each face are in alignment with the slots of the other and extend transversely partially through the housing with transversely opposed slots being separated by an annular contact band which maintains substantially constant side clearance between the inner member and outer race member thereby to prevent the development of high stress concentrations in the outer race member during loading. In use, the opposed slots are necessarily aligned substantially at right angles to the line along which the bearing is subjected to loads.
