Method and system for transferring information between network management entities of a wireless communication system

A method and wireless communication system may be used for transferring management information. An access point (AP) may transmit a management information base (MIB) information request including a category field and an action details field to a wireless transmit/receive (WTRU). In response to receiving the information request, the WTRU may determine whether or not to provide management information to the AP. When the WTRU provides management information to the AP, the WTRU may compile management information stored in a MIB located in the WTRU and transmit a MIB information report to the AP. The MIB may list a plurality of tables containing information associated with radio resource management (RRM) and at least one table containing physical layer measurements. The AP may include a MIB for storing MIB information of the WTRU. The AP may transmit the stored MIB information of the WTRU in response to a request.

A method and system is disclosed for communicating data using diverse radio access technologies (RATs) in a wireless communication system. A wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) may transmit data over a first channel using a first radio access technology (RAT) and a network node may receive information that indicates that the WTRU is operating on the first channel using the first RAT. The network node may determine, based on the RAT being used by the WTRU, that the WTRU should move to a second channel prior to a quiet period on the first channel. A method and apparatus may be used for network management via MAC measurements. The measurements may include WTRU uplink traffic loading measurement, and an AP service loading measurement. An Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 station (STA) comprising:a receiver configured to receive, from an access point (AP), a beacon frame that includes a field that is 8 bits in length and represents an average access delay associated with the AP, wherein the average access delay is a measurement of time between when a packet is ready for transmission and an actual packet transmission start time; anda processor configured to decode the beacon frame including the field.2. A station (STA) may receive an Uplink Priority List (UPL) from an access point (AP). In one example embodiment, a STA may send a request for prioritized access to an AP. The STA may then receive an ordered queue of STAs granted contention free prioritized access in a predetermined time interval, which may be referred to as the Exclusive Priority Access (EPA) period. A method and apparatus are disclosed for enabling high-efficiency communication in wireless local area network (WLAN) systems. A station (STA) may receive an Uplink Priority List (UPL) from an access point (AP). In one example embodiment, a STA may send a request for prioritized access to an AP. The STA may then receive an ordered queue of STAs granted contention free prioritized access in a predetermined time interval, which may be referred to as the Exclusive Priority Access (EPA) period. The STA may then determine whether it is identified in the ordered queue of STAs granted prioritized access. The STA may then access a medium such as a Carrier Sense Multiple Access (CSMA) wireless medium associated with the IEEE 802.11 network, in turn with other STAs in the ordered queue per the queue order during the predetermined time interval using an inter-frame spacing, thereby enabling contention free access.
