Improved compositions for coating paper stock, methods of forming such compositions, and methods of coating paper stock with those compositions are provided. The compositions comprise an aqueous dispersion including therein from about 20-45% by weight filler (e.g., a starch such as wheat starch) and from about 6-18% by weight wheat gluten. Preferably, the gluten is initially modified with a reducing agent so that the average molecular weight of the gluten is less than about 1,000 kDa. The compositions have a viscosity of up to about 2000 cP and a solids content of from about 25-57% by weight, thus making them suitable for high speed coating of paper stock. The finished, coated stock may be conventionally printed to achieve high gloss end products. The compositions are preferably water soluble, thereby greatly facilitating repulping of the coated stock.

Proteins/starch paper coating compositions and method of use thereof

Improved compositions for coating paper stock, methods of forming such compositions, and methods of coating paper stock with those compositions are provided. The compositions comprise an aqueous dispersion including therein from about 20-45 % by weight filler (e.g., a starch such as wheat starch) and from about 6-18 % by weight wheat gluten. Preferably, the gluten is initially modified with a reducing agent so that the average molecular weight of the gluten is less than about 1,000 kDa. The compositions have a viscosity of up to about 2000 cP and a solids content of from about 25-57 % by weight, thus making them suitable for high speed coating of paper stock. The finished, coated stock may be conventionally printed to achieve high gloss end products. The compositions are preferably water soluble, thereby greatly facilitating repulping of the coated stock.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a resonator and a filter. According to embodiments of the present disclosure, there is providing an improved resonator and an improved filter. A resonator comprises a housing that defines a cavity. The resonator also comprises a dielectric resonance element arranged inside the cavity. A first end of the dielectric resonance element is directly and conductively connected to the housing with a first fixing element. A second end of the dielectric resonance element is directly and conductively connected to the housing with a second fixing element. The first end is opposite to the second end. A filter comprises a housing, defining a cavity; a set of dielectric resonance elements, arranged in parallel and inside the cavity, wherein the set of dielectric resonance elements are directly and conductively connected to the housing; an input coupling element coupled with the set of dielectric resonance elements; an output coupling element coupled with the set of dielectric resonance elements; a cross-coupling element arranged between dielectric resonance elements in the set of dielectric resonance elements; and a tunning element for tunning a resonant frequency or a coupling between dielectric resonance elements in the filter. In this way, the structures of the resonator and the filter are simple and stable. Moreover, an improved Q value and a reduced size can be achieved.

Alcohol-free wet extraction of gluten dough into gliadin and glutenin

An improved alcohol-free method for fractionating gluten into gliadin and glutenin fractions is provided where an acidic dispersion of gluten is formed with a reducing agent (e.g., sodium metabisulfite) operable for breaking disulfide bonds in the gluten protein. Thereafter, the pH of the dispersion is raised to cause glutenin to precipitate while leaving gliadin suspended in the dispersion. The respective fractions can then be separated by decanting or centrifugation. In preferred processing, the dispersion is reacidified prior to separation in order to achieve a higher degree of separation of the glutenin and gliadin.

Preferably, a twin screw extrusion system including a preconditioner is used for production of the chews. Extrusion conditions are established so as to ensure adequate moisture content for retrograding of the gelatinized starch after processing.
