A system and method for welding edge seams at the edges of fabric is presented. A method begins by lowering a fabric pre-fold bar onto a piece of fabric. A pre-aligned portion of the fabric is pushed on top of the pre-fold bar so that the pre-fold bar is between the portion of fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar and other fabric below the pre-fold bar. The fabric on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is folded edge fabric and fabric not on top of the fabric pre-fold bar is not folded edge fabric. A folded edge is formed between these two sections of fabric. The method pinches some of the fabric at the folded end and then pulls the folded edge fabric off of the fabric pre-fold bar. After that, the method welds at least some of the folded edge fabric to the not folded edge fabric.

A second plurality of operands are read from the shared vector register file during the subsequent clock cycles to initiate execution of one or more second vector instructions on the second execution pipeline.

To make a robust and secure connection of the respective cathode tabs to a cathode terminal, the tabs are folded into an overlapping and stacked relationship. The proximal end of a metal strip is wrapped around the stacked cathode tabs and then a laser is used to weld through all layers of the metal strip and each of the bound cathode tabs. The laser welds are visible from the opposite side of the thusly formed strip-shaped hoop surrounding the stacked cathode tabs from which the laser beam first contacted the assembly. This provides the welding engineer with a visual indication that the welded connection of the metal strip-shaped hoop to the stacked cathode tabs is robust and structurally sound.

Spreader rods open up a gap in a bag's gusset and nozzles blow warmed air into the gap. Orthogonally arranged first and second hydraulic members are operatively engaged with heating gun assembly and are activated to move the heating gun assembly vertically or horizontally. Hot air blowing into the gap from the nozzle relaxes the gusset. Pressure is applied to the relaxed gusset, thereby reducing the thickness of the gusset region of the bag. The reduction in thickness makes it possible to increase the number of gusseted bags that are packaged in a container or on a roll.

A method and protocol for Distributed Network Address Translation (“DNAT”) is provided. DNAT is used to overcome the limited address 32-bit address space used for versions of the Internet Protocol (“IP”). DNAT is used with small office or home office networks or other legacy local network that have multiple network devices using a common external network address to communicate with an external network. The protocol includes a port allocation protocol to allocate globally unique ports to network devices on a local computer network. The globally unique ports are used in a combination network address with a common external network address such as an IP address, to identify multiple network devices on a local network to an external network such as the Internet, an intranet, or a public switched telephone network. The method includes requesting one or more globally unique ports from network devices on a local network, receiving the ports, and replacing local ports with the globally unique ports. The network devices on the local network use the combination network address with the common external network address and the globally unique port to uniquely identify themselves during communications with an external network. DNAT overcomes the large computation burdens encountered when network address translation is done by a router for multiple network devices on a local network using a common external network address and simplifies routers since a router in a DNAT system does not have to support multiple individual protocols. DNAT helps extend the life of versions of IP using 32-bit addressing, allows a local network to efficiently switch between external network service providers and allows a local network to purchase a smaller block of external network addresses.

A new approach and instrument for field identification of micro-organisms and DNA fragments using a small and disposable device containing integrated polymerase chain reaction (PCR) enzymatic reaction wells, attached capillary electrophoresis (CE) channels, detectors, and read-out all on/in a small hand-held package. The analysis instrument may be made inexpensively, for example, of plastic, and thus is disposable, which minimizes cross contamination and the potential for false positive identification between samples. In addition, it is designed for multiple users with individual applications. The integrated PCR/CE is manufactured by the PCR well and CE channels are "stamped" into plastic depressions where conductive coatings are made in the wells and ends of the CE microchannels to carry voltage and current to heat the PCR reaction mixtures and simultaneously draw DNA bands up the CE channels. Light is transmitted through the instrument at appropriate points and detects PCR bands and identifies DNA fragments by size (retention time) and quantifies each by the amount of light generated as each phototransistor positioned below each CE channel detects a passing band. The propagation of a feedback signal, such as a DQS signal generated in response to a read request in a Double Data Rate (DDR) memory system, into a digital host system, such as an ASIC, is controlled by using a programmable delay circuit and detection sequence to compensate for variable I/O delay. The memory system includes a controller and an interface, both on the ASIC, and memory units coupled to the controller through the interface. The interface uses the read request signal, sent by the controller to initiate read operations, to generate a select signal. A programmable delay element inside the interface unit is programmed using a delay value generated by a delay manager unit inside the controller. The programmable delay element delays the select signal, and an enable signal is generated from the delayed select signal, using DQS. The propagation of DQS is controlled by the enable signal. For a number of preferred delay values that are determined through the detection sequence, the enable signal allows DQS to propagate into the ASIC only when DQS is a valid digital signal.
