Un proceso para la estabilización bacteriana de una preparación acuosa, comprendiendo dicha preparación al menos un carbonato de calcio natural, carbonato de calcio precipitado sintético, caolín, talco, hidróxido de aluminio, silicato de aluminio, dióxido de titanio y mezclas de los mismos y al menos una cepa de bacterias seleccionada del grupo que consiste en Methylobacteria y Pseudomonas que es resistente a, tolerante a y/o que degrada biocidas que liberan aldehído y/o biocidas con uno o más grupos aldehído en ausencia de iones litio, en donde el proceso comprende las etapas de: (a) agregar a la preparación acuosa uno o más biocidas que liberan aldehído y/o biocidas con uno o más grupos aldehído en una cantidad tal que la cantidad total de biocidas que liberan aldehído y/o biocidas con uno o más grupos aldehído en la preparación acuosa sea desde 250 ppm hasta 5000 ppm, calculado respecto al agua de la preparación; (b) agregar al menos un compuesto de litio soluble en agua a la preparación acuosa en una cantidad tal que la cantidad total de litio solubilizado en la preparación acuosa sea desde 1000 hasta 3000 ppm, calculado respecto al peso del agua de la preparación, en donde el compuesto de litio soluble en agua es una sal de litio polimérica seleccionada entre Li2Na2polifosfato o hexametafosfato de litio-sodio, en donde las etapas (a) y (b) pueden ser llevadas a cabo de manera simultánea, o separada, en cualquier orden, y en donde la estabilización conduce a una reducción en el valor de cfu/ml hasta un valor inferior a 104 cfu/ml.
