An ink recirculation system is used to reduce variability in system performance resulting from ink viscosity changes. A recirculation pump moves ink through an ink recirculation line connected to an ink reservoir. A metering pump adds a controlled flow rate of solvent from a solvent replenishment chamber into the ink recirculation line, thereby providing replenished ink which is returned to the ink reservoir. A control system is used to control the flow rate of solvent provided by the metering pump responsive to feature characteristics determined by analyzing a captured image of the printed pattern.

A cleaning system has a composite photoreceptive imaging member having a support layer, an electrically conductive layer interfacing with the support layer, a photoconductive charge generation layer interfacing with the electrically conductive layer and generating charge holes and electrons in response to exposure to electromagnetic radiation; a charge transport layer that allows charge holes to migrate from the charge generation layer to the outer surface while resisting migration of electrons from the charge generation layer to the outer surface and a cleaning blade member having a cleaning surface layer against the electrostatic surface to at least in part remove toner and debris from the outer surface. The cleaning surface layer has a first material and a second material that are combined in proportions that cause a triboelectric charge to be formed on the outer surface having a difference of potential of between zero and minus 20 volts. 1. A cleaning system has an actuator that moves the electrostatic imaging member in a second direction opposite the first direction and a frame positions a mounting within a first range of mounting distances from the electrostatic imaging member with the mounting holding a cleaning blade at a holding angle that causes a free length of the cleaning blade to extend along a first direction to position a cleaning end of the cleaning blade to engage the electrostatic imaging member for movement therewith. The pivotable ink pan is positioned to provide a predetermined gap between the anilox roller and the fountain roller by inserting a shim between the fountain roller and the anilox roller. The position of the pivotable ink pan is adjusted by adjusting a height of a distal portion of the pivotable ink pan by a predetermined amount that is known to close the predetermined gap to a desired extent. The position of the pivotable ink pan is then locked such that the distal portion of the pivotable ink pan is maintained at the adjusted height.
