The present invention is directed to novel amino-substituted seven-membered heterocyclic compounds of structural formula (I) which are inhibitors of the dipeptidyl peptidase-IV enzyme and which are useful in the treatment or prevention of diseases in which the dipeptidyl peptidase-IV enzyme is involved, such as diabetes and particularly Type 2 diabetes. The invention is also directed to pharmaceutical compositions comprising these compounds and the use of these compounds and compositions in the prevention or treatment of such diseases in which the dipeptidyl peptidase-IV enzyme is involved. 2. The method includes forming a pattern in a mask layer using, for example, double patterning or multi-patterning techniques. The mask is treated to smooth or round sharp corners. In an embodiment in which a positive pattern is formed in the mask, the treatment may comprise a plasma process or an isotropic wet etch. In an embodiment in which a negative pattern is formed in the mask, the treatment may comprise formation of conformal layer over the mask pattern. Novel methods for the texturing of photovoltaic cells is described, wherein texturing minimizes reflectance losses and hence increases solar cell efficiency. In one aspect, a microstamp with the mirror inverse of the optimum surface structure is described. The photovoltaic cell substrate to be etched and the microstamp are immersed in a bath and pressed together to yield the optimum surface structure. In another aspect, micro and nanoscale structures are introduced to the surface of a photovoltaic cell by wet etching and depositing nanoparticles or introducing metal induced pitting to a substrate surface. In still another aspect, remote plasma source (RPS) or reactive ion etching (RIE), is used to etch nanoscale features into a silicon-containing substrate. 1. A method of introducing a surface roughness to a substrate surface , said method comprising immersing a microstamp and a substrate in a bath comprising an etchant composition and pressing the microstamp to the substrate to etch micrometer scale features into the substrate surface.2. A stochastic time-digital converter (STDC) including an input switching circuit, an STDC array, and an encoder. A method and system for implementing concurrency control in a database system includes receiving a request from a node for handling by a GTM. Registering the request in a slot in a tracking array where each of the slots represents one of the requests for handling by the GTM. A slot is acquired, and a segment of the tracking array is scanned to determine a batch of pending requests. The batch is used to produce an aggregate request and the aggregate request includes an aggregate increment of a total number of commit requests of the batch. The aggregate request is sent to the GTM using one of a plurality of pre-established connections. A response is received from the GTM that includes a current value of an incremented timestamp. The incremented timestamp is distributed to the requests of the batch and the lock is released. 1. A method comprising:registering a request in a slot in a tracking array comprising a plurality of slots, each of the plurality of slots representing one of a plurality of requests including the request;acquiring a lock of the slot;determining a batch of pending requests, the batch including the request, the batch being used to produce an aggregate request, the aggregate request including an aggregate increment of a total number of commit requests of the batch;sending the aggregate request to a global transaction manager (GTM);receiving a response from the GTM, the response including a value of an incremented timestamp;distributing the incremented timestamp for the plurality of requests of the batch; andreleasing the lock of the slot.2. A method of preventing user operations, an electronic device, and a storage medium are disclosed. When running a preset application, the method generates a shielding interface which is always displayed on a topmost layer of a display screen of the electronic device. When the shielding interface is in the top display state, any input instruction is shielded and isolated to prevent operation into the electronic device. A display duration of the shielding interface is recorded, and the shielding interface is closed when the display duration matches the preset duration. According to the present disclosure, the user can be temporarily prevented from operating the electronic device quickly and effectively. 1.
