Active agent delivery devices are provided. Aspects of the devices include an active agent delivery component having an active agent delivery system; and an actuator component, where the active agent delivery component is release-ably engaged to the actuator component. The actuator component includes an active agent delivery system actuator. Either or both components may contain one or more elements of a pain mitigation system and/or a smart device system, e.g., an identifier and identifier reader.
