Macrostructure forming surfactants useful as spray drift control agents in pesticide spraying applications

The present invention relates to an aqueous agrochemical spray solution containing an agrochemical active and a surfactant. The spray solution comprises a dispersed phase comprising dispersed particles which have an average particle size between 1 to 100 microns and the concentration of said dispersed particles is from about 0.001 to 5 wt %. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution is capable of reducing the volume of the fine droplets in mist whose size is less than 150 microns during spraying by at least 20% compared to the same aqueous spray solution without the presence of the surfactant. The present invention also relates to a method of reducing the spray drift of an aqueous agrochemical spray solution upon spraying with a spraying apparatus. The method includes adding the surfactant to the aqueous agrochemical spray solution in an amount effective to form the dispersed phase.

Pest controlling compositions exhibiting enhanced pesticidal activity levels are disclosed. In one embodiment, a composition includes at least one pesticide, at least one transition metal salt and least one proteinaceous material. In this embodiment, the composition exhibits enhanced pesticidal activity levels compared to a composition dissimilar only in not having the at least one transition metal salt and the at least one proteinaceous material. 1. A composition , comprising a spinosyn selected from the group consisting of spinetoram and spinosad , at least one metal salt and at least one proteinaceous material , wherein the at least one metal salt includes a cation chosen from one of iron (III) and copper (II) and the at least one proteinaceous material is selected from the group consisting of egg albumen , whey , gelatin and zein.2. The composition of claim 1 , which includes a ratio by weight between the at least one metal salt and the at least one pesticide from about 1:1 to about 6:1 claim 1 , a ratio by weight between the at least one proteinaceous material and the at least one pesticide from about 3:1 to about 8:1 claim 1 , and a ratio by weight between the at least one proteinaceous material and the at least one metal salt from about 1:2 to about 4:1.3. Methods and compositions to reduce spray drift during application and/or volatility after application can be reduced by incorporating certain tertiary amine or tertiary amine oxide surfactants into an aqueous herbicidal spray mixture containing dicamba. The use of the choline salt of dicamba and the presence of 3,6-dichlorosalicylic acid (DCSA) or a salicylic acid derivative can further reduce drift and volatility. In some embodiments, the composition can contain one or more additional pesticides, such as glyphosate, glufosinate, or mixtures thereof. The concentration of 3,6-dichlorosalicylic acid or the salicylic acid derivative is typically greater than about 25 ppm by weight of the spray mixture. 2. The method of claim 1 , wherein the concentration of 3 claim 1 ,6-dichlorosalicylic acid of the salicylic acid derivative is at greater than about 50 ppm by weight of the spray mixture.3. The present invention relates to an aqueous agrochemical spray solution containing an agrochemical active and a surfactant. The spray solution comprises a dispersed phase comprising dispersed particles which have an average particle size between 1 to 100 microns and the concentration of said dispersed particles is from about 0.001 to 5 wt %. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution is capable of reducing the volume of the fine droplets in mist whose size is less than 150 microns during spraying by at least 20% compared to the same aqueous spray solution without the presence of the surfactant. The present invention also relates to a method of reducing the spray drift of an aqueous agrochemical spray solution upon spraying with a spraying apparatus. The method includes adding the surfactant to the aqueous agrochemical spray solution in an amount effective to form the dispersed phase. 2. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution of claim 1 , wherein the at least one agrochemical active is a herbicide.3. The present invention relates to an aqueous agrochemical spray solution containing an agrochemical active and a surfactant. The spray solution comprises a dispersed phase comprising dispersed particles which have an average particle size between 1 to 100 microns and the concentration of said dispersed particles is from about 0.001 to 5 wt %. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution is capable of reducing the volume of the fine droplets in mist whose size is less than 150 microns during spraying by at least 20% compared to the same aqueous spray solution without the presence of the surfactant. The present invention also relates to a method of reducing the spray drift of an aqueous agrochemical spray solution upon spraying with a spraying apparatus. The method includes adding the surfactant to the aqueous agrochemical spray solution in an amount effective to form the dispersed phase. 2. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution of claim 1 , wherein the at least one agrochemical active is a herbicide.3. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution of claim 2 , wherein the said herbicide comprises a salt of glyphosate claim 2 , a salt of 2 claim 2 ,4-D claim 2 , a salt of dicamba claim 2 , a salt of glufosinate claim 2 , or a combination and/or mixture thereof.4. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution of claim 1 , wherein the dispersed particles are vesicles or liposomes formed by said at least one surfactant.5. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution of claim 1 , wherein the alkoxylated amide is a reaction product of fatty acid with diethanolamine claim 1 , optionally ethoxylated with 2-20 ethoxylation units.6. The aqueous agrochemical spray solution of claim 1 , wherein the alkoxylated amide is a reaction product of fatty acid with monoethanolamine claim 1 , optionally ethoxylated with 2-20 ethoxylation units.8.
