The present disclosure discloses an inspection device and a method for inspecting a container. Transmission scanning is performed on the inspected container using a scanning device including a sparse area array detector to obtain scan data. Digital focusing is performed at a specific depth position in a depth direction. Defocused pixel values are filtered out to obtain a slice image at the specific depth position. It is judged whether dangerous articles or suspicious articles are included in the slice image. 1. A method for inspecting a container , comprising steps of:performing transmission scanning on the inspected container using a scanning device including a sparse area array detector to obtain scan data;performing digital focusing at a specific depth position in a depth direction;filtering out defocused pixel values to obtain a slice image at the specific depth position; andjudging whether dangerous articles or suspicious articles are included in the slice image.2. Crosstalk can be suppressed in photonic switching fabrics by activating unused photonic elements in a manner that manipulates the inactive connections and inhibits the propagation of cross-talk over the switching fabric. For example, unused photonic elements can be set to a cross or bar configuration to block first and second order crosstalk from propagating to the output ports, thereby reducing noise in the output signals. All of the unused elements can be activated in order to maximize crosstalk suppression. Alternatively, fewer than all of the unused elements may be activated to achieve a balance between crosstalk suppression and power conservation. Photonic switch architectures can be configured to use pre-determined cross-talk suppression maps (e.g., patterns of activated unused cells) for the various switching configurations, which may be computed using a recursive algorithm. 1. Techniques are disclosed for measuring the corpus callosum volume of a fetus using magnetic resonance imaging. A scanogram of a fetus is acquired, and a detection area is determined using the corpus callosum position of the fetus in the scanogram. Magnetic resonance scanning is performed on the detection area to obtain a diffusion weighted image, with a gradient direction that is orthogonal or normal to an extending direction of fiber bundles of the corpus callosum. A fetal head image is cropped in the diffusion weighted image, and a predetermined threshold is applied to obtain an image including pixels having a brightness value that is greater than the threshold. Image processing is performed on the binarized image, with the largest region therein being identified as the corpus callosum, and the sum of voxel dimensions associated with the signal of the largest region being calculated as the corpus callosum volume.

A method and apparatus for routing signals through a photonic switch are provided. An electro-optical, ridge-waveguide device (10) and method for its fabricati on utilizes a polyimide ridge-protection layer (116), which provides good ridge protection/planarization while minimizing parasitic capacitance. A silicon oxide interlayer (118) is used between a metal contact layer (112) and the polyimide. Preferably, the polyimide is roughened to increase the surface area contact between the polyimide layer (116) and silicon oxide layer (118) to further increase adhesion and thus th e pull-off force required to separate the metal contact layer (122) from the device. While such roughening can be achieved through plasma etching, in a preferred embodiment, the polyimide layer (116) is roughened by patterned etching. Specifically, a patterned photoresist (154) is used as an etch- protection layer to form a series of wells in the polyimide layer that have a pitch between 1 and 20 microns.

The present invention provides end-to-end (ETE) quality of service (QoS) for voice and other real time applications in a Softswitch-based network, and more particularly, in a packet data network or IP network (200) that is capable of setting up and routing voice calls through Softswitch. The soft switch system comprises a call agent (202) that sets up and routes the calls. A universal quality of service manager (UQM) is formed to work with the call agent and the gateways (208, 212) and routers of the IP network (200) to provision, control, and guarantee the ETE QoS for voice and other real time applications. The UQM consists of five components: Bandwidth Manager, Policy Engine, Real Time Performance Monitor, Admission Controller, and Bandwidth Broker. With different levels of interactions between the above five components, the QoS for voice and other real time applications can be achieved by QoS provisioning, QoS controlling, and an ETE QoS guarantee.

Method for measuring corpus callosum volume of fetus by means of magnetic resonance imaging, and magnetic resonance imaging apparatus

Techniques are disclosed for measuring the corpus callosum volume of a fetus using magnetic resonance imaging. A scanogram of a fetus is acquired, and a detection area is determined using the corpus callosum position of the fetus in the scanogram. Magnetic resonance scanning is performed on the detection area to obtain a diffusion weighted image, with a gradient direction that is orthogonal or normal to an extending direction of fiber bundles of the corpus callosum. A fetal head image is cropped in the diffusion weighted image, and a predetermined threshold is applied to obtain an image including pixels having a brightness value that is greater than the threshold. Image processing is performed on the binarized image, with the largest region therein being identified as the corpus callosum, and the sum of voxel dimensions associated with the signal of the largest region being calculated as the corpus callosum volume.
