Referring to a rehanging needle, the shaft is provided with a cutout that receives the tip of a rehanging spring. The cutout is divided into a first section and a second section, whereby the two sections have different depths. When a half stitch slides onto the rehanging spring, the spring tip can use the space due to the recessed second section and sink into said space, without the rehanging spring experiencing a permanent deformation. Consequently, it is possible for the half stitches to consistently and reliably slide up in order to set up the rehanging operation.

A latch needle (1) has a latch spring (19), which assumes the width of the latch slit (5) in the vicinity of the latch seating (18). However, the latch spring (19) is embodied to be narrower on both sides of this section (25). By means of this, premature wear of the latch or spring in the area of the latch seating device (18) is counteracted on the one hand as is, on the other, the obstruction of the latch slit (5) by dust or dirt. The narrower sections (26, 27) of the latch spring (19) define a passage together with the inner face (8, 9) of the slit walls (6, 7), through which foreign bodies, such as fiber remnants, dust or the like can be conveyed from the upper needle side (11) in the direction toward the needle back (12). In contrast to conventional latch needles, needles (1) of this type of construction show reduced wear, a reduced susceptibility to becoming soiled, and therefore increased dependability.

Motion analysis based buffer regulation scheme

Номер: US0006389072B1

A method and apparatus for processing and encoding video data is presented that allocates available bandwidth, and hence image quality, in dependence upon the relative speed of motion of objects in a sequence of images forming the video data. Fast moving objects are allocated less quality, or precision, than slower moving or stationary objects. In a preferred embodiment of this invention, the quantization step size is dependent upon the magnitude of the motion vector associated with each block in each frame of a video sequence. In a further embodiment of this invention, the quantization step size is also dependent upon the location of each block in each frame, providing more precision to a central area of each frame. Post-placement and pre-routing processing of critical paths in a circuit design

Номер: US0009773083B1
Принадлежит: XILINX, INC., XILINX INC, Xilinx, Inc.

Aspects of processing a circuit design include synthesizing the circuit design and placing elements of the synthesized circuit design. After placing and before routing, respective delay values and slacks are determined. A first path having a most negative slack is determined and a first group of candidate paths is selected. The first group of candidate paths is a subset of critical paths of the circuit design, and the first group of candidate paths have delay values within a threshold range of delay values from the delay value of the first path. The first group of candidate paths are modified to reduce the respective delay values and a second group of candidate paths is selected. The second group of candidate paths have circuit structures that match selected circuit structures and are modified to reduce the respective delay values. A critical path having a most negative slack is iteratively selected and modified to reduce the respective delay value.
