Das Sensorsystem der Erfindung weist ein erstes Sensorelement und ein zweites Sensorelement auf, wobei das erste Sensorelement unabhängig von einer Bordnetzspannung Impulse bei einer Drehbewegung erzeugt. Die daraus erhaltenen Informationen ermöglichen die Errechnung einer absoluten Drehwinkelstellung auch über mehrere Umdrehungen, wobei allerdings nur eine relativ grobe Genauigkeit erreicht wird. Mit einem zweiten Sensorelement, das von einer Bordnetzspannung abhängig ist, kann im gewöhnlichen Betrieb die Auflösung verfeinert werden.
