The canister is closed by means of a faucet fitted with a sleeve and cap nut, the sleeve composed of metal etc. with higher flow point than the canister material. The sleeve is screwed onto the faucet and the cap nut is threaded tight onto the sleeve. A sealing ring of rubber is placed between the base of the faucet and the sleeve and a sealing flange spreads out from the bottom of the flange. A tongue and notching member on the flange locate this and thus prevent the sleeve from twisting. Secure closure, avoidance of bulging and warping which would impede tight closure.

A spout attachment 8 for a vessel improves the pouring of liquid from the vessel, especially when the vessel is nearly full. The spout attaches permanently or temporarily (using an elastic band) to the outside of the vessel (e.g. a vessel with plain rim) and catches the dribbles which run down the outer wall of the vessel. A sealing gasket may be provided. A hood (16, fig 3) may be provided to prevent liquid overshooting the spout attachment when pouring at higher speeds. The spout may be made from transparent materials, and may be discarded after a single use. The spout is particularly useful for attaching to an unused mug, beaker or glass for use in watering plants.

The openings 2 and 3 may be arranged at different levels and parallel with each other, as shown, or a diaphragm may be arranged in the casing between the openings and with its top edge above the top of the inlet opening. In another form the outlet pipe extends within the casing to a point above the top of the inlet opening. The inlet may be fitted with a filter 5 and jointing- washer 6.

A ring (6) on the handle-portion (2) retains the cap of the bottle (10), and the spout- portion (1, 17) is attached to the bottle-neck (11, 20) by a screw-threaded collar (8), or a spring clip (15 Fig 5).

A hand-held drinking container has a unique shape as a sock. The body looks like a flask and has a screw-on cap on the top into which the liquid drink can be poured. A push spout is located on the “toe” section of the flask. The flask has flat sides and a flat top with curved edge sides joined to the sides and the top. The push spout has a retainer nut thereabout that allows a flexible material in a predetermined shape having a hole therein to be placed over the push spout and secured thereto such as a Xmas sock with a push spout hole therein. This flask and sock combination can then be hung from a hook. In another embodiment, the flask would be made of a flexible plastic bladder material and need not be placed in a sock.

Examples of a telescoping spout for dispensing fluid from a container are disclosed. The telescoping spout comprises a base that is configured to be connected to a pouring opening of the container. A telescoping body is connected to the base. The telescoping body comprises a lower section and an upper section shaped to form the telescoping body. The lower section has a cross-section that is greater than a cross-section of the upper section. An outlet is formed at the distal end of the upper section and a tab is connected to a top wall of the upper section to close the outlet of the telescoping body when not in use. The tab is configured to be moved out of a flow path of the fluid to open the outlet. The sidewall of the upper section has a greater thickness than the thickness of a sidewall of the lower section, so that the lower section can fold on itself or can bend to adjust the position of the discharge outlet. When the telescoping body is in a collapsed position the upper section is nested within the lower section and is positioned within the pouring opening of the container. In order to get the telescoping body in extended position the upper section is pulled out of the lower section. 1.
