The invention consists of a pop-in extended travel single roller for patio doors. This roller assembly is retained in the patio door track by no mechanical means. This is accomplished by mounting the roller assembly into a pre-fabricated opening, the width of which is slightly larger than the over-all basic width of the outer housing. Protrusions on the side of the outer housing, after passing through the opening, retain the roller in the proper position. This feature eliminates the need for mechanical fasteners thereby saving costs of parts and labor. This assembly also provides for increased over-all height adjustment range. Finally, this invention through the use of an adjusting screw aids the ease of removal of the movable panel of the patio door assembly.

A gate adjustment system has a bull-nose glide, a flat glide, a plurality of spacers, a gap size gauge, and a gap adjustment wedge. The glides are attached to the latch post and the latch side of a gate opposite one another. As the gate is shut, the bull-nose portion of the bull-nose glide impacts the rounded edge of the flat glide. The two curved surfaces allow the impact force to cause the gate to be lifted and pushed back into alignment. The gap adjustment wedge can be positioned between the top of the latch side and the latch post and pushed downwards into the gap until the gap is uniform from the top to the bottom. The gap size gauge then measures the size of the gap and that measurement is used to determine which of the plurality of spacers should be installed with the glides.

A rail is attached to the body, the rail having a non-flared portion and a flared portion. A wheel attached to the door is movable along the rail. The wheel is laterally constrained in the non-flared portion of the rail when the door is in an open condition and are laterally movable in the flared portions of the rail when the door is proximate a closed condition. A projecting portion of the male part mates with a receptacle of the female part when the slide door is closed, laterally adjusting and aligning the door with respect to the outer body panel.

To prevent loading the hinge (56) in an axial direction when the panel (26) is in the closed position, the panel (26) is movable axially along the hinge line (66). In the past this has resulted in the fan cowl panel (26) being misaligned during closure between the inlet cowl panel (22) and the thrust reverser cowl panel (24) resulting in damage to the fan cowl panel (26) and surrounding structure. The hinge (50) of the present invention automatically aligns a V-blade (38) of the fan cowl panel (26) with a V-groove (40) of the inlet cowl panel (22) during closure of the fan cowl panel (56) in order to overcome this misalignment problem.
