Die Lamellen (25) der Irisblende sind gegen einen zentral angeordneten Verdrängungskörper (22) beweglich, und der Verdrängungskörper (22) weist wenigstens ein Dichtelement auf, welches eine Aufnahme für die Lamellen (25) der Irisblende aufweist. A double-layer grid (7) is fixedly connected on a charging chute (8); an inflatable rubber pocket (4) is filled inside the chute and fixed; and an inflating valve (1) is arranged on the inflatable rubber pocket (4). Compared with the prior art, the inflatable isolating valve avoids the phenomenon that an inserting board cannot be inserted tightly because of scaling in the charging chute, namely untightly closed valve. Furthermore, as the 'inserting board' of the isolating valve adopts the inflatable rubber pocket, and the inserting board is deflated when the inserting board is placed in and taken out so as to reduce friction, the inserting board can be placed in and taken out easily and is convenient for cleaning, so that the service life of the valve can be greatly prolonged. The inflatable isolating valve not only reduces labor intensity of operators, but also greatly reduces the manufacturing cost.

With a reduced cross-section of the gas stream inlet, the operating range of the compressor allows the compressor to operate in a stable manner at lower flows. After increasing the cross-section of the gas stream inlet in front of the compressor's wheel 2, the operating range of the turbocharger is shifted towards higher flows, which allows for stable operation at higher gas flows. This solution makes it possible to increase the operating range of radial, axial and radial-axial compressors.

Apparatuses and methods are provided for protectively covering an air inlet or outlet of an air-moving assembly. The apparatus includes a protective cover assembly, which includes a retractable cover and a spring-biasing mechanism. The retractable cover transitions between a retracted state, when the air-moving assembly is operatively positioned within the chassis, and in extended state, when the air-moving assembly is withdrawn from the chassis. In retracted state, the retractable cover is retracted away from the air inlet or outlet, and in extended state, the retractable cover covers, at least partially, the air inlet or outlet. The spring-biasing mechanism is coupled to the retractable cover and biases the retractable cover in the extended state when the air-moving assembly is withdrawn from the chassis, and compresses to allow transition of the retractable cover to the retracted state as the air-moving assembly is inserted into operative position within the chassis. 1.
