In response to selecting the representation of the media file, an embedded viewer is launched within the sent message region of the user interface of the second client device that includes embedded selectable controls which, when activated, control viewing or playback of the media file within the user interface.

A restrictive presentation system can receive an electronic message configured for offline consumption expressed as user-specified delivery conditions. The electronic message can be securely conveyed to a computing device in an online state using a communications network. A client application of the restrictive presentation system can be installed upon the computing device and can receive the electronic message. The client application can detect a change of the computing device from the online state to the offline state. In response to user-acceptance, the electronic message can be presented upon the computing device while in the offline state. Upon user-termination of the presentation, the electronic message can be automatically deleted from a storage location of the computing device. When the computing device returns to the online state, the client application can notify the restrictive presentation system of the offline consumption.

In one embodiment, an information transmitting method includes: selecting a target transmission mode from transmission modes for a to-be-transmitted short message according to a received selection command, wherein the transmission modes include a disappear-after-reading transmission mode, a regular direct-display transmission mode and/or a regular transmission mode; upon detecting that the target transmission mode is the disappear-after-reading transmission mode, adding a disappear-after-reading tag to the to-be-transmitted short message; and transmitting the to-be-transmitted short message added with the disappear-after-reading tag to the information receiving device, therefore the information receiving device deletes the content in the short message according to the disappear-after-reading tag thereof after the short message has been read. By means of the technical solutions of the present disclosure, the content in the short message is deleted directly after it has been read, which may improve the personal privacy safety. 1. In one embodiment, a method for distributing contextual information over a network to a first remote subscriber computer comprises receiving contextual information at a transmission server sent from a data source over a network, storing the remote subscriber's preferences relating to defined communication aspects, configuring the contextual information accordingly, and providing a configurable viewer application to the first remote subscriber for installation on the remote subscriber computer, the configurable viewer application including an interactive graphical user interface for viewing the configured contextual information. In a further aspect, the method includes sending a first encoded short URL for downloading the configurable application in a message to the first remote subscriber's computer.

A server transmits a message from a sender to a recipient. The server receives from the recipient an attachment relating to the message route between the server and the recipient. The server transmits to the sender the message and the attachment and their encrypted digital fingerprints and expunges the transmitted information. To subsequently authenticate the message and the attachment, the sender transmits to the server what the server has previously transmitted to the sender.
