A wireless communication device comprising: a storage configured to store identification information identifying a particular adjacent device from among the plurality of wireless communication devices that is adjacent to the wireless communication device and that transmits, to the wireless communication device, data addressed to a final destination device; a generator configured to generate search data that includes information indicating a search of a route to the final destination device; a transmitter configured to broadcast the search data to adjacent devices; and a decision unit configured to determine that a bypass route from the particular adjacent device to the final destination device is not present when data that includes information indicating that the search data does not reach the final destination device is received from all particular adjacent devices for which identification information is stored in the storage. 1. Systems and methods for communicating with a radio frequency (RF) device are disclosed herein. In particular, a method of recovering an out-of-service node comprises sending a hailing message on a plurality of hailing channels from a second node to the out-of-service node, the second node being in direct wireless communication with the out-of-service node, and sending a synchronization request message from the second node to the out-of-service node on a first data channel. 1. A wireless communication network comprising:a plurality of nodes, each node being configured in wireless communication with at least one other node, and at least one of the plurality of nodes being configured in wireless communication with a utility provider;wherein the utility provider and the plurality of nodes are arranged in a hierarchy with the utility provider being highest in the hierarchy, the plurality of nodes being arranged such that two nodes in direct wireless communication with each other include a parent node and a child node, the parent node being higher in the hierarchy with respect to the child node; andwherein, when a first node of the plurality of nodes is determined to be out-of-service, the plurality of nodes are configured to perform a recovery procedure to restore the first node to operation, the recovery procedure including transmitting a time synchronization signal from a second node to the first node, the second node being in direct wireless communication with the first node.2. The methods may employ an error rate table that has a channel condition value dimension and a transmission parameter dimension. The elements of the error rate table include expected error rates for data transmitted at various channel conditions according to various transmission parameters. Also, the various transmission parameters may each be associated with a data transmission rate. For a given channel condition value, the methods may determine expected throughputs for each of the transmission parameters according to the associated expected error rates and data transmission rates. In scenarios where the quality of service is negotiated through a signalling layer whereas the services are actually carried through a bearer layer, application functions at the signalling layer are not always aware of how quality of service is individually accomplished at the bearer layer on a service basis. The invention provides a method and devices whereby events are detected on a service data flow basis at a detection device in the bearer layer and notified towards an application device in the signalling layer via a control device between the signalling and the bearer layer. The list of events to be notified is obtainable at the control device from the application device and is included in Quality of Service related rules, along with service data flow filters. This Quality of Service related rules are provided to the detection device for inspecting individual service data flows in order to detect and notify the indicated events. 1.
