[Also in Group XXIX] A pipe section 10 to which a hose is attached is threadably engaged at 13 by a nozzle section 11 carrying a valve adaptor 20 with a valve washer 25 which engages an annular valve seat 27. The extent to which the nozzle section is screwed along the pipe section determines the opening of the valve and the flow of fluid through the nozzle via valve and passages 21, 23 and 22. A sealing ring 18 is located between a socket part 15 of the section 11 and a skirt 14 of the section 10. A pin 16 prevents the complete removal of the section 11. Fig. 2 shows an arrangement for use in a pipe line in which the nozzle section is replaced by a tubular extension 29 which is a sliding fluid tight fit in a socket 30 of a pipe coupling unit. Pipe coupling parts 31, 34 are provided. The valve seating 27 is on a member 35 axially slidable in the part 10 and having sealing rings 38, 39.
