Реферат: 1488702 Brake proportioning valves GIRLING Ltd 11 Feb 1975 [20 Feb 1974] 7796/74 Heading F2F A limiting or proportioning valve assembly for use in a dual circuit braking system comprises first and second control valves having respective inlets 1A, 1B for connection to separate pressure sources and respective outlets 3A, 3B for connection to separate wheel brakes, the first valve having a connection with and in operation being subjected to the pressure of the second valve so that the characteristics of the first valve are modified in response to failure of the inlet pressure of the second valve. The assembly is also constructed so that failure of the inlet pressure of the first valve causes modification of the characteristics of the second valve. Between the inlet and outlet of each valve is a stationary seat 4A, 4B which co-operates with a valve head 5A, 5B forming an integral part of a plunger 6A, 6B having a piston head 7A, 7B working in a bore against a spring 8A, 8B, a second piston head 9A, 9B being slidably sealed in a bore 10A, 10B and a third piston head 11A, 11B working in a bore communicating with the inlet 1B, 1A respectively. If the pressure at inlet 1B is removed the hydraulic thrust is reduced and the pressure at 1A required to close the valve against spring 8A increased. In a modification Fig. 2 the bores 2A, 2B are side-by-side and the stem 6A or 6B of each valve instead of carrying a piston head has its outer end connected to a tension spring 8A, 8B which is stressed in accordance with the loading of the vehicle and acts in a sense to keep the valve open.
