Improvements relating to metal-free monoazo dyestuffs which are difficultly soluble in water, their use, and synthetic textile fibres or fabrics dyed therewith

Реферат: The invention comprises dyes of the general formula <FORM:0992981/C4-C5/1> wherein Y is a possibly substituted phenyl group and R is an unsubstituted alkyl group containing 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a monocyclic aryl group the dyestuff containing neither water-solubilizing groups which dissociate acid in water nor metal complex forming groupings. Such dyes are prepared by coupling appropriate benzene series diazonium compounds and naphthylamines. The former may contain at least one electrophilic substituent in the position o- or pwith respect to the diazonium group. Mixtures of coupling components may be employed. Substituents present in the diazo components specified in examples include nitro, methyl, chloro, cyano, trifluoromethyl, methoxy, methyl and bromo-substituents. Additional substituents mentioned include acylamino groups, e.g. acetyl- and chloracetylamino groups, methyl and chloromethylsulphonylamino groups, benzoyl and chlorobenzoylamino groups, chlorotriazinylamino and chloropyrimidylamino groups. Also specified are carbalkoxy groups and sulphonic acid amide groups e.g. sulphonic acid dimethylamide, cyclohexylamide piperidide and morpholide groups. The dyes are suitable for dyeing from aqueous dispersions, fibres of cellulose triacetate, glycol terephthalates and superpolyamides.
