Lubricating-pumps.-A lubricator for shaft bearings &c. comprises a hollow pump plunger G, mounted in the bearing casing C and operated by an eccentric I on the shaft A, against which it is pressed by the spring H. Oil contained in the lower part F of the casing C enters the plunger G by one or more holes G', and is forced through the pipe J to the bearing-surfaces, collecting again in the chambers D and channel F. Packing E prevents the escape of oil from the casing C. In a modification, brasses B are not used, and the pipe J, channel F, and annular chambers D are bored in the solid casing. The eccentric I may be in two parts, dovetailed together. The plunger G may be connected to the eccentric by a strap or spring-ring, the spring H being dispensed with. The outlet from the pump may be fitted with a valve.
