Реферат: 20,715. Dickie, W., and Inglis, W. Oct. 1. Paper bags, machine for making. The machine is for folding sheets of paper into bellows tubes. A plate or tongue 5 is supported at one end above the table A, and a sheet of paper suitably gummed is passed under it and its edges held vertically by the operative. By means of a treadle acting through the rod 10, chains 19, and eccentric chainwheels 18, side flaps 17 are folded inwards, immediately followed by the plate 8, which is also operated by the rod 10. The edges of the paper are finally folded over the plate 8, and made to adhere together. There is a central ridge 5<a> or the tongue 5 that occupies the space between the flaps 17 when they are folded inwards. The plate 8 is provided with the usual hinged pointed end 9. The movable parts are returned to their normal position by springs 12, 20. In the modification shown in Figs. 5 and 8, the flaps are moved by racks 26 on the plate 6<a> that carries the plate 8, which gear with pinions 25 on their spindles 16, and are held in position by spring levers 28, bearing on the arms 27 on their spindles 16 as shown in Fig. 8.
