Реферат: In the case of a battery charging device having a plurality of retaining devices (2A, 2K) for battery-operated, portable apparatuses (3), in order to be able to charge the batteries (4) of said apparatuses (3) individually from a common DC source (10), a dedicated charging circuit (14A ... 14K) is provided for each retaining device. Each charging circuit has a switching transistor (15), a limiting resistor (16), a charge-maintaining and indicating arrangement (17), connected in parallel therewith, and a monitoring arrangement (18) which controls the switching transistor, which devices are provided with a reference voltage and supply voltage from separate DC voltage sources (36, 37).
