A valve comprises a housing 40 in which is provided a cylindrical aperture having circumferential spaced ports which are connectable with a radial passage in a rotatable valve member 50. The valve member is rotatable on an axle 48 which also provides the fluid pressure through passage 56 to the valve member. The axle 48 has two bearing surfaces 60 on each side of which are necked portions 69. The axle is mounted in bearings 44 and on tightening a nut 54, the axle bows with portions 60 remaining substantially straight thereby adjusting the clearance between the valve member 50 and the housing. The valve member is rocked between two outlets by a piston the opposite ends of which are connected to the outputs of a bi-stable pure fluid switch.
