[Class 60.] In a device for sharpening safety-razor blades comprising a blade-holder 3 mounted on a carriage 2 movable along a frame 1, so that the blade edge contacts with the curved surface of an obliquely placed sharpening-body 5, the body is mounted on pivots 11, 11<1> at its ends so that it rocks as the blade passes over it. The pivots are mounted in supports 12, 13 on the frame 1 and the body 5 is connected to a flat member 14 which has rolling contact with the surface 15 of a saddle 16 slidablv supported on the support 12 by a spring 17. The body has a honing-surface 9 and a stropping surface 10 and may be turned, to bring either surface into operation, by a handle 20. The surface 15 may be of roof shape in place of being convex as shown ; the support 12 has a slot 21 to allow of removal of the body 5.
