Provided are: a diamine compound containing a terpyridine or phenanthroline functional group; and a production method therefor. The diamine compound containing a terpyridine or phenanthroline functional group according to the present invention has the advantages that it is capable of forming a polymer by reacting with a monomer such as a dianhydride, dicarboxylic acid or diester, and the terpyridine or phenanthroline structure comprised as the functional group is capable of coordinate bonding with a metal, such that the compound can be used as a catalyst or dielectric material that makes use thereof, and can be used in fields where functional groups that can bind with unshared electron pairs can be added in various ways.[0000]
