The present invention concerns the reduction of gastro-intestinal methanogenesis in ruminants with the aid of agents that compete for the hydrogen atoms required by methanogens during normal fermentation of ingested feed. The invention in one aspect resides in the findings that both nitrate reductive pathways as well as sulphate reductive pathways outcompete gastro-intestinal methanogenesis in ruminants and, that the methanogenesis reducing effects of nitrate and sulphate are completely additive. At the same time the combined administration of nitrate and sulphate was found to be fully effective to avoid or mitigate the potential problems of nitrite intoxication normally encountered when using nitrate alone, which effect is further enhanced, where necessary, by the addition of a nitrite reducing probiotic micoroorganism. Hence, products are provided comprising high amounts of a combination of a nitrate compound and a sulphate compound and optionally a nitrite reducing probiotic microorganism ...

The urine of livestock is introduced into and stored in a urine collector, and the solid matter is separated as necessary from the urine to take out completely liquid excrement having urine as a main component. This liquid excrement is introduced into a treatment tank, to which various kinds of small pieces of rocks and soil humus are added to cause a bioreaction in aerating condition, whereby a humus forming reaction takes place owing to the actions of the soil humus and soil microorganisms contained in the liquid excrement as a raw material. The various kinds of small pieces of rocks added display their functions as catalysts for promoting the humus forming reaction to activate the soil microorganisms, which lead the excrement to the formation of humus, to the ultimate limit. This makes it possible to treat this liquid excrement speedily and efficiently and turn it into an odorless nonpoisonous material, and also turn the liquid excrement into a concentrate of the active soil microorganisms ...

Urine discharged from domestic animals is stored in a reservoir, filtered to separate solid and liquid components, and sent to one or more treating tanks. Various rocks and soil humus are added to the treatment tank, which is aerated to accelerately produce humus and to cause proliferation of soil microorganisms in the wastes. The rocks are added to serve as catalysts for the bioreactions. As a result, the soil microorganisms that contribute to humus production are markedly activated, and the liquid waste is quickly and efficiently detoxified and rendered odorless. The resultant aqueous solution contains high concentrations of activated soil microorganisms and their metabolic products which can be used as an agricultural material.

SUBSTITUTE PROTEIN FEED MADE OF ZEOLITE POWDER ADSORBED WITH UREA ELEMENT, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME

Номер: KR1020160008134A
Принадлежит:

Sources for vegetable protein such as bean cake, mainly used for the feed for ruminants are insufficient in domestic environments, thereby brining foreign currency waste as well as nutritional deficiency to the ruminants. Microbes living in the first stomach of a ruminant such as cow, synthesizes protein after disintegrating the same in order to obtain high-level nutrients. Therefore, urea is directly used instead of protein. However, since the risk of the direct use is high, the urea is partially safely adsorbed onto zeolite, and named as substitute protein or artificial protein, in order to be fed in the same way as the bean cake. For the same, the zeolite is heated and pulverized along with urea, adsorbed or be simultaneously adsorbed onto the zeolite on a roller without the heat treatment, leaving less loss of urea. Hereon, the product adsorbed with heat treatment will be named as the artificial protein feed, while the other product adsorbed without heat treatment will be named as the ...

No. 13/037,716 filed Mar. 1, 2011, herein incorporated by reference in its entirety. This invention relates to supplementation of the diets of domesticated animals (livestock and poultry) with iodine in an enhanced bioavailable manner, that is to say the iodine is more available to the animal than when using conventional sources of iodine, such as calcium iodate. The supplementary compound are alpha amino acid metal iodide complexes. It is well known that domesticated animals (livestock and poultry) are in need of bioavailable metal or mineral supplements, essential amino acids, and also are in need of iodine for healthy animal nutrition.Iodine is a key component of hormones produced by the thyroid gland. The thyroid is responsible for growth, brain development and the rate at which animals burn energy. Two of the most common sources of iodine used in animal nutrition and therefore used in supplementing animal diets are calcium iodate (CaIO) and ethylenediamine dihydoiodide (EDDI). One test of the efficiency of effective metabolization of the iodine source by an animal is measuring blood serum levels of iodine after ingesting of the nutrient material. In the animal feed industry it is known that insufficient availability of iodine to the animal can result in conditions such as goiters, reproductive failure, weak offspring, reduced milk yield, mastitis, abnormal respiration, reduced growth rate and even hairless offspring. The traditional toxicity symptoms of iodine in animals are anorexia, excess salivation, ...

Process for Forming Chromium Propionate as an Agricultural Feed Additive

Номер: US20170066707A1
Автор: Reddy Pratap V.
Принадлежит: NUTECH BIOSCIENCES, INC.

Chromium propionate, as an animal feed supplement, is created employing chromium carbonate and propionic acid as starting materials. A quantity of chromium carbonate is dissolved into water and propionic acid is stirred in to this, followed by calcium oxide. The propionic acid reacts with the chromium carbonate to form chromium propionate. The calcium oxide minimizes the hygroscopic nature of the finished product, to prevent caking and lumping. The chromium propionate appears as a precipitate, which is dried and can be centrifuged to drive out excess propionic acid. The dried precipitate is delumped and ground to a desired particle size. The end product has a minimum of 10% active bio-available chromium(III) content. 1. Process for forming chromium propionate in suitable form for use as an agricultural feed additive containing a minimum of 10% available chromium(III) , the process comprising:a) into a vessel adding a quantity of chromium carbonate, and introducing a sufficient quantity of water to form an aqueous paste with the chromium carbonate;b) adding to said aqueous paste in said vessel a quantity of propionic acid while stirring the paste and added propionic acid;c) adding to said paste a quantity of one of calcium oxide and magnesium oxide sufficient to raise the pH of said paste;d) allowing the chromium carbonate, propionic acid, and said one of calcium oxide and magnesium oxide to react to completion resulting in a precipitate of chromium propionate and reaction byproducts of said one of calcium oxide and magnesium oxide;e) placing the precipitate into a drying device and removing residual water remaining therein after step d) to dry the precipitate, such that the reaction byproduct of the one of the calcium oxide and magnesium oxide includes a carbonate salt that serves as an anti-caking agent; andf) comminuting the precipitate to a desired particle size.2. Номер: US20140287088A1
Автор: Henry Michael Herbert
Принадлежит:

This invention relates to addition of calcium citrate-malate in the feed of young animals and poultry. Growth in young animals and poultry is rapid. During the early stages of development, a highly soluble and bioavailable source of calcium is needed for healthy growth and bone development. In addition, this invention also relates to a source of calcium in the feed of laying hens. Laying hens require large quantity of calcium for eggshell formation. While the hens can mobilize calcium from bone to supplement the dietary calcium, the mobilization is slow and inefficient. The mobilization of bone calcium is also detrimental to health of hens. Laying hens often have bone defects and inferior eggshell. The addition of calcium citrate-malate to feeds and milk replacers of young animals enhances the bioavailability calcium for growth and bone development and improves health and eggshell quality of laying hens. 1. A method of feeding young poultry chicken , turkey , geese , ducks , quails) and young animals (swine , cattle , sheep , goats , dogs , cats , not excluding other species) feed comprising of primarily corn , wheat , or barley , and soybean meal as a diet , wherein said diet contains calcium citrate malate to provide up to 50% of the dietary calcium to improve growth , to enhance bone development , and to prevent tibial dyschondroplasia.2.
