Injection syringe, partic. for use with a pharmaceutical prod., contains an active prod. and a liq. solvent which should not be mixed until the moment of injection. The syringe has a cylindrical body which is divided by a first, elastic, sliding stopper into an upper chamber contg. the active prod. and a lower chamber contg. the liq. solvent. The internal wall of the upper chamber is provided with four longitudinal grooves. In the storage posn. the stopper is located below these grooves. The upper chamber opens into the outlet nozzle which is protected by a safety cap. The lower chamber is closed by the second, elastic sliding stopper to which the piston can be screwed. The piston is pushed inside the cylindrical body; the pressure, transmitted by the solvent, causes the first stopper to slide until it comes opposite the grooves; the liq. passes through the grooves and penetrates into the upper chamber where it dissolves the active prod. With all the liq. solvent now in the upper chamber, the mixt. is ready to be injected. The pharmaceutical prods. are stored separately in the syringe and are only mixed at the last moment before the injection is effected.

The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein said hydroxocobalamin and/or cobinamide are in reduced form.5. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1 , wherein an oxidation state of at least a portion of cobalt in said hydroxocobalamin and/or said cobinamide is 2+.6. The liqs. which may be solns or suspensions are intended for introduction into the rectal or vaginal cavities; they contain an active prod. which for preservation reasons, must be mixed extemporaneously either with another active prod, or with a solvent, at the moment of use. The recipient is in the shape of a bottle made from a pliable plastic material; the neck is pierced with an evacuation orifice through which a syringe nozzle and stem can slide. The head of the latter penetrates into the body cavity. At the end of the stem opposite the nozzle a bell-shaped chamber can be filled with an antibiotic in powder form, while the remainder of the recipient is filled with a solvent for this antibiotic. In use, the nozzle, with its stem, is pulled through the orifice and away from the base until the bell comes to rest on the corresponding surface inside the neck; the head of the nozzle is inserted in the body orifice and the wall of the recipient squeezed so that the liq. penetrates into the body in the conventional manner. Appts. is simple and low in cost; the two constituents are perfectly isolated from each other but become rapidly mixed at the moment of use.

This invention is an apparatus (10) employing liquid and gas as working fluids for cleansing living tissue, which includes a container (12) for a sterile liquid; a fluid delivery head (14) having a liquid entry port (16), a gas entry port (18), fluid outlet apparatus (20), and valve apparatus (79) located between the entry ports and the fluid outlet apparatus, and for selectively permitting respective liquid and gas flows from the entry ports to the fluid outlet apparatus; liquid conduit apparatus (56) extending between a liquid inlet (58) located within the container and a liquid outlet (32) connected to the liquid entry port (16) of the delivery head; gas conduit apparatus (34) extending between a gas inlet (36) and a gas outlet (42), wherein the gas inlet is connected to a source of pressurized gas and the gas outlet is connected to the gas entry port (24) of the delivery head, and wherein the gas conduit apparatus (34) is connected to the container via an intermediate outlet port (26); and an apparatus for selectively exposing the source of sterile liquid to a flow of pressurized gas flowing from the gas inlet to the gas outlet and into the gas entry port of the fluid delivery head, thereby to pump the sterile liquid along the liquid conduit apparatus, from the inlet to the outlet, and into the liquid entry port of the fluid delivery head.

This channel leads to the front side of the connecting head parallel and closely adjacent the remaining conveying channels.
