Invention includes methods and devices for dissolution in water solvent of solid protein compositions, such as solid compositions containing fibrinogen. Methods involve use of closed container with volume of solid fibrinogen composition and free space, wherein pressure in free space is below atmospheric pressure. Water solvent is introduced into container, while maintaining pressure below atmospheric pressure, and after adding solvent volume of free space is reduced to level inner pressure with atmospheric pressure.
