In one embodiment, a cutting guide has a base with a flat lower surface for resting the cutting guide on an upper surface of a work piece. Extending down from the front of the base is an abutment member that aligns the base with a front surface of the work piece. A fence is installed on the upper surface of one side of the base to guide a cutting instrument across the work piece. A kick-up preventer extends from the top of the fence away from the base to prevent the cutting instrument from kicking-up during operation. On the other side of the base, a tape measure is mounted on the upper surface such that the tape extends away from the fence, and a measurement-securing assembly is mounted in front of the tape measure to secure the tape measure at a desired measurement.

A folding stand with a pivoting securing mechanism to secure an object to the stand is disclosed. The stand may include two rails in the same horizontal plane and a securing mechanism that pivots about an axis which is perpendicular to that horizontal plane. The securing mechanism may be positionable in a locked and an unlocked position. The securing mechanism may include one or more arms that extends over a portion of the object in the locked position. 1. A stand for supporting an object , the stand comprising:a plurality of legs;first and second rails supported by the plurality of legs, where the first and second rails are positioned in a horizontal plane; anda securing mechanism attached to the first rail, where the securing mechanism is configured to pivot about an axis of rotation perpendicular to the horizontal plane, where the securing mechanism is configured to be pivoted by hand without the use of tools, and where pivoting the securing mechanism less than 360 degrees secures the object to the stand.2. The stand of claim 1 , where the securing mechanism is configured to be pivoted between a locked position and an unlocked position claim 1 , and where the securing mechanism secures the object to the stand when in the locked position.3. A welding table with elevation system, powered with cordless drill, gear reducer, chain, sprockets and, ultimately turning screw posts synchronously, lifting four telescoping legs. Maximum elevated height exceeds most work benches for height matching, and a minimum height goes lower than most low tables. Folding wheel system is independent, lever operated, and works in conjunction with the elevation system. Once table rolls into position, drill is activated, braking is instant, the table lifts itself from the wheels. Wheels are then folded up, a position necessary during minimum height, as the frame gets closer to the ground. This low height enables sitting roll stool usage, and knees and legs enter the rear frame opening. Two drawers above conceal the wheels, have a lever locking system, and necessary when rolling the table. A modular , securable tool work station comprising:a frame, said frame defining a front, an opposing rear, a first side, an opposing second side, a bottom and a top of said work station, a sub-station storage area above said bottom and accessible from at least said front of said work station, said frame being rollably supported;a workbench, said workbench positioned above said sub-station area;a workback extending upwardly from said workbench at said rear of said work station whereby a work area is accessible from said front of said work station between said sides and in front of said workback;at least one door for selectively closing said front of said work station at said work area; andat least one sub-station which may be located in said sub-station area or removed therefrom, said at least one sub-station comprising a frame defining at least one storage area therein, whereby sub-stations having different configurations may be selectively associated with said work station or be removed therefrom.2. A work stool includes a support whose one end has a cushion and an opposite end has a base. The base has a bottom provided with a plurality of casters. The support has a gas strut. A tray is mounted around the support and positioned between the cushion and the base. Portable tooling for machining a bottom portion of an aircraft landing gear strut having a plurality of orifices. The portable tooling comprising a collar for positioning it on the bottom portion of the strut, at least one indexing member for angularly indexing the collar on the strut and for preventing it from moving, and a support that is removably fitted on the collar and that is fitted with a motor-driven machining spindle that carries a tool mounted to move on the support along a direction converging on the strut in order to machine an orifice extending in register with the tool. The collar is arranged in such a manner as to be capable of receiving the support in a plurality of angular positions, in each of which the tool extends in register with one of the orifices to be machined. 1.
