A forming device for gathering the width of a traveling web is disclosed. The forming device includes opposing arrays of flute-forming bars that can be interlaced to define therebetween a longitudinal flute-forming labyrinth effective to reduce the width of a web traveling therethrough by a preselected take-up ratio. The flute-forming bars are curved beginning at an entry end of the forming device such that they converge in a lateral direction as they proceed in the machine direction. In this manner, individual elements of the web traveling between the respective arrays in the machine direction follow contour lines along the curved bars or between adjacent ones of the curved bars so that no such element crosses any flute-forming bar in the cross-machine direction as the web travels and is fluted. A forming device having an entry end and an exit end spaced apart along a machine direction , the forming device comprising a plurality of flute-forming bars extending from adjacent said entry end toward said exit end , at least a subset of the plurality of flute-forming bars being curved such that they converge in a cross-machine direction as they proceed toward said exit end.2. The present invention involves a fabrication of plastic-tube-screen-fill using plastic tubes. The plastic-tube-screen-fill consists of several plastic tubes suspending between top and bottom tube holding perforated frames in the shape of a rectangular thin plate as a vertical string screen. Method and System of Corrugated Curved Crease Energy Absorbers

A method and system of curved crease foldcores as energy absorbers with rule lines can that lie parallel in the flat state. Corrugated sheet is bonded to the foldcore material such that the corrugations align with the ruling. The curved creases are then cut from the corrugated layer. The image of the corrugation lines under the folding motion remains a line, and the corrugated structure survives and reinforces the folding mechanism. The corrugation significantly increases the second area moment of inertia about the crushing direction, while leaving the second area moment of inertia about the perpendicular direction largely unchanged. Under compressive failure, the corrugated foldcore fails progressively, rather than catastrophically. Also, the corrugations enforce the curved crease pattern, allowing the required curved panels to be bent while disallowing other deformations. This limiting of extraneous deformation aids in manufacturing, and as a global boundary condition readily enforces local folding directions. 1. A method of producing a corrugated curved crease energy absorber comprising:generating a set of rule lines on a 2-dimensional surface, said rule lines parallel to one-another on said 2-dimensional surface;bonding a corrugated layer to the 2-dimensional surface so that corrugations align with the rule lines;making a set of 2-dimensional cuts in the corrugated layer designed to produce a desired 3-dimensional foldcore;folding the foldcore along the rule lines to produce a 3-dimensional energy absorbing structure.2. An apparatus for manufacturing an alignment layer includes: a dispenser which supplies an alignment material; an anilox roll, onto which the alignment material supplied from the dispenser is applied; a printing roll which is engaged and rotated with the anilox roll; and a resin plate attached to an outer peripheral surface of the printing roll, where the resin plate receives the alignment material applied onto the anilox roll and prints the alignment material to a targeted substrate, in which the resin plate comprises a first area and a second area surrounding the first area, first convex portions and first concave portions are disposed in the first area, second convex portions and second concave portions are disposed in the second area, and an area of each second convex portion is larger than an area of each first convex portion.
