Salts of N-monoalkyl-b -alanines are obtained by adding methyl acrylate to a mixture of primary amines obtainable from the acids of coconut oil or palm-kernel oil, and running the mixture into a solution of caustic soda. Amino acids or their salts of the formula R1R2NRCOOM, where R is a chain of 3-5 methylene groups, R1 is an aliphatic radical of 10-20 carbon atoms, R2 is hydrogen and M is hydrogen, sodium or potassium, are prepared by a process wherein (a) a fatty amine is condensed with a lactone to form a hydroxyamide, (b) the latter is caused to undergo ring-formation by the action of heat, and (c) the cyclic compound so obtained is treated with strong acid or strong alkali. Thixotropic aqueous compositions containing long chain saturated fatty acid stabilizers

Номер: US5413727A
Принадлежит: Colgate Palmolive Co

The physical stability of liquid gel-like compositions based on thixotropic thickener is greatly improved by incorporating in the composition small amounts of long chain fatty acids and salts thereof. The aqueous compositions containing inorganic builder salts and other functional inorganic salts, chlorine bleach, bleach stable detergent, at least one thixotropic thickener and a fatty acid or a metal salt of the fatty acid as a physical stabilizer exhibit a significant increase in apparent viscosity and remain stable against phase separation for an extended period of time. The thixotropic properties can be retained or improved using smaller levels of the thixotropic thickener than in the absence of the physical stabilizer. The stability, chlorine-bleach loss and cleaning ability of the compositions is further improved, when the composition pH is at least 11.2, when added to an aqueous wash both at a concentration of about 10 grams per liter. Use as liquid gel-like automatic dishwasher compositions are described.

Thixotropic aqueous compositions containing adipic or azelaic acid stabilizer

Номер: US5427707A
Принадлежит: Colgate Palmolive Co

The physical stability of liquid gel-like compositions based on thixotropic thickener is greatly improved by incorporating in the composition small amounts, such as 0.1 to 0.2 weight percent of long chain fatty acids and salts thereof. The aqueous compositions containing inorganic builder salts and other functional inorganic salts, chlorine bleach, bleach stable detergent, at least one thixotropic thickener and a fatty acid or alkali metal salt of the fatty acid as a physical stabilizer exhibit a significant increase in apparent viscosity and remain stable against phase separation for an extended period of time. Abrasive bleach containing composition

Номер: GB2322379A
Принадлежит: Reckitt and Colman South Africa Pty Ltd

Shelf stable, single phase, thickened bleach containing compositions which exhibit a high level of bleach stability, effective stain and soil removal particularly from hard surfaces, and good disinfection of treated surfaces have good viscosity characteristics and single solution phase behaviour enabling the composition to have an acceptable shelf life. The compositions comprise a soap, a nonionic amine oxide, a sulphate or sulphonate anionic, an alkali metal salt eg. chloride, a pH adjusting agent, a bleach releasing agent such as hypochlorite, an abrasive and a builder.

Stable solid block metal protecting warewashing detergent composition

Номер: US6410495B1
Принадлежит: Ecolab Inc

The dimensionally stable alkaline solid block warewashing detergent uses an E-form binder forming a solid comprising a sodium carbonate source of alkalinity, a metal corrosion protecting alkali metal silicate composition, a sequestrant, a surfactant package and other optional material. The solid block is dimensionally stable and highly effective in removing soil from the surfaces of dishware in the institutional and industrial environment. The E-form hydrate comprises an organic phosphonate and a hydrated carbonate.

Alkaline detergent containing mixed organic and inorganic sequestrants resulting in improved soil removal

Номер: US6436893B1
Принадлежит: Ecolab Inc

Solid block alkaline detergent compositions are disclosed comprising a source of alkalinity, and other detergent additives including sequestrants. The solid block detergents of the invention used a mixed inorganic and organic sequestrant composition that successfully softens service water used in manufacturing aqueous detergents from the composition, but also obtains substantially improved organic soil removal on dishware or flatware. The solid block detergents of the invention comprise large masses of the chemical ingredients having a weight of greater than about 500 grams in a solid block product format that is typically dispensed using a spray on water dispenser that creates an aqueous concentrate that is used in a washing machine.

Binding agent for solid block functional material

Номер: US6653266B2
Принадлежит: Ecolab Inc

A solid functional material comprises a functional agent such as a cleaning composition, a sanitizing agent, where a rinse agent, etc. in a solid block format. The solid block is formed by a binding agent that forms the active ingredients into a solid block. The binding agent comprises a phosphonate or amino acetate sequestrant, a carbonate salt and water in an E-Form hydrate. These materials at a specific mole ratio form a novel binding agent that can form functional materials into a solid matrix form.
