The present invention provides a self-photographing device for taking pictures single-handedly. The self-photographing device can accommodate various digital cameras, single-lens camera, and camera phones, and can provide an adequate distance between the camera and the photographer for better self-shooting. The self-photographing device comprises a picture-taking unit, a stage rotation unit, a telescopic pole unit, a folding joint unit and a grip unit. After use, the self-photographing device can be folded into a size not larger than 228×87×87 cm and is suitable for being carried in a handbag. The present invention also provides a method for using a self-photographing device to take a picture or shooting a video single-handedly. The abovementioned self-photographing device and method enable a photographer to take picture of 1) oneself, 2) oneself with one's family and friends, or 3) others and scenery with a bird's eye view or a behind-a-door view.

A mount assembly has an attachment component and a housing. The housing is hollow and has an interior and an exterior. The housing has a rear plate that is substantially rectangular, a top face, a bottom face, two lateral faces, and a front plate. A clamp device is used to releasably secure an electronic device to a mounting base. The electronic device includes a mounting surface and electrical components. The electronic device is placed in physical contact with the clamp device and a toggle clam is actuated to secure the electronic device to the mounting base. An electrical coupling can also be connected when the toggle clamp secures the electronic device to the base. A safety level is actuated automatically when the lever secures the electronic device to prevent the toggle clamp from being accidentally released. Adapters that can mount phones or other electronic devices on camera stabilizers, where the adapters are portable, can capable of charging, and can allow cameras on the phones to be easily leveled or adjusted to any orientation. An adapter can include a base portion having an opening, where a fastener in the opening can attach the adapter to a camera stabilizer, as well as an upright portion having an enclosure and a contacting surface. The enclosure can house a first magnet array for magnetically attracting a second magnet array in a phone, such that the phone can be readily mounted to a camera stabilizer. The enclosure can further house near-field communication circuits and components for identification. The upright portion and base portion can be connected by a fixed right angle or by a hinge, which can allow the adapter to fold into a more convenient form.

A mounting apparatus and system and method for making the same are provided. The mounting apparatus allows an object to be mounted to a mounting surface via magnetic attractions between different planes of engagement. Through the movement of planes of magnets, an object that is brought in proximity to the mounting apparatus may engage one of the magnetic planes and then be moved further to engage the other magnetic plane, with the combined magnetic force being configured to support the particular object for which the mounting apparatus is designed.
