A method and system for the UE and RNC to reduce transmission latency and potentially prevent loss of PDUs upon a MAC layer reset. UE generation of the status PDU is coupled with the MAC layer reset. The RNC generates a message with a MAC reset indication. Following the MAC layer reset all PDUs stored in the UE MAC layer reordering buffers are flushed to RLC entities and then processed by RLC entities prior to the generation of a PDU status report. The PDU status report provides to the RNC the status of all successfully received PDUs. Upon reception of a PDU status report in the RNC, missing PDUs are realized and retransmitted to the UE.

Proposed is a new shared channel system that will allow for more utilization of bandwidth by allowing two signals to collide. This shared channel technique extracts information from the collision of the two signals sent by two different transmitters. The signal of interest is extracted from the collision by undoing the effect of the channel and by removing the known signal from the resultant. This technique makes it possible for full duplex communication with a single communication channel or medium.

A system and method for detecting the presence of a Bluetooth or Zigbee signal within a short period of time is disclosed. The signal identification circuit has two stages, a first stage that processes windows to determine whether noise is present, and a second stage that processes long windows to determine whether the signal is a particular lower-power network protocol. The signal identification circuit can be configured to detect Bluetooth at 1 Mbps, Bluetooth at 2 Mbps or Zigbee. The signal identification signal may be used to allow a lower-power network controller to coexist with a high duty cycle WiFi controller. The signal identification circuit may also be used for other functions, such as powering on a lower-power network controller, determining CCA, or determining which channel a packet is being transmitted on.

A recovery mechanism for robust header compression (ROHC) is disclosed for wireless communication systems. A method of moving a receiving window in a wireless mobile communication system, wherein the AM RLC of the transmitting side sends information of the last discarded SDU regardless of continuity of the discarded SDUs. The AM RLC of the receiving side checks whether all SDUs from the start point of the receiving window up to the last discarded SDU are successfully received, delivers the SDUs that are successfully received to an upper layer, and discard only those SDUs that are not successfully received. 1. This disclosure describes implementations of a modified ARQ/HARQ procedure that deviates from normal wait-and-stop ARQ/HARQ procedure. In particular, a series of messages to be transmitted may be organized in a predetermined number of message groups. By using various control parameters communicated between the transmitting device and the receiving device, the different groups of messages may be independently transmitted without having the transmission of one group of messages wait for acknowledgement of another group of messages. In addition, within each of the message groups, the receiving device is allowed to store and hold acknowledgement of messages until a later time specified through control parameters transmitted via control messages. A control message may trigger transmission of stored acknowledgement for one or more message groups identified, again, by control parameters included in the control message. Multiple pending acknowledgements of multiple groups of messages may be triggered and subsequently transmitted in a single acknowledgement message. The pending acknowledgements may include acknowledgements for successful receipt of both initially transmitted message and retransmitted message.

A method and system for improving responsiveness in exchanging management and control frames in a wireless local area network are disclosed. An initiator sends a frame (action frame, management frame, CSI frame, control frame, or data frame) to a responder. The present invention provides a method, a base station, and a user equipment for feeding back ACK/NACK information for carrier aggregation. The method includes: configuring a common field preset in DCI as at least one type of command field related to ACK/NACK feedback of at least two types of command fields related to ACK/NACK feedback, where the common field can be configured as the command fields related to ACK/NACK feedback; and sending the DCI to a user equipment, so that the user equipment feeds back ACK/NACK information according to the DCI. The present invention may realize backward compatibility of the ACK/NACK information feedback with an LTE system in carrier aggregation.

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for group or one-shot acknowledgment (ACK) feedback reporting, in which feedback for a number of different downlink transmissions may be provided by a user equipment (UE) to a base station. A base station may trigger a one-shot feedback report that includes less than all of the ACK feedback that is available at the UE to provide in a report. The ACK feedback may include an indication of an ACK or a negative acknowledgement (NACK) along with information related to a data indicator associated with the downlink transmission. In some cases regular ACK feedback reports and one-shot feedback reports may be multiplexed and transmitted by a UE.
