According to certain aspects of the disclosure, a computer-implemented method computer-implemented method may be used for screening electronic communications. The method may comprise analyzing contents of an electronic communication to determine whether the contents include sensitive information. A recipient list of the electronic communication may be compared to a screening list. Based on the analyzing and the comparing, it may be determined whether the contents are permitted to be transmitted to the recipient list. Upon determining that the contents are not permitted to be transmitted to at least one party of the recipient list, a notification may be provided to an author of the electronic communication indicating that contents are not permitted to be transmitted to the at least one party of the recipient list.

The method and system enable secure forwarding of a message from a first computer to a second computer via an intermediate computer in a telecommunication network. In a communication arrangement in accordance with the invention, a server is employed to collect and organize information for mobile device users according to the user profiles, e.g., personal profile, business profile, vacation profile, etc., which reflect different user personae. By using this arrangement, the user advantageously maintains only the necessary information in the mobile device and downloads any additional information from the server on an as needed basis. In addition, the server is capable of serving mobile devices which may be incompatible to one another, thereby facilitating an exchange of information between such devices. Moreover, with the server, incoming messages for the user are organized and stored according to the source of the messages and the user criteria established in the user profiles. Further, information in a mobile device may be organized using electronic information cards, referred to as “E-cards,” which facilitate, among others, transfer of information from the mobile device to the server, or other mobile devices to conduct various commercial and data transactions. 1. The method and system enable secure forwarding of a message from a first computer to a second computer via an intermediate computer in a telecommunication network. A message is formed in the first computer or in a computer that is served by the first computer, and in the latter case, sending the message to the first computer. In the first computer, a secure message is then formed by giving the message a unique identity and a destination address. The message is sent from the first computer to the intermediate computer after which the destination address and the unique identity are used to find an address to the second computer. The current destination address is substituted with the found address to the second computer, and the unique identity is substituted with another unique identity. Then the message is forwarded to the second computer.

A method for determining metrics of a content delivery and global traffic management network provides service metric probes that determine the service availability and metric measurements of types of services provided by a content delivery machine. Latency probes are also provided for determining the latency of various servers within a network. Service metric probes consult a configuration file containing each DNS name in its area and the set of services. Each server in the network has a metric test associated with each service supported by the server which the service metric probes periodically performs metric tests on and records the metric test results which are periodically sent to all of the DNS servers in the network. DNS servers use the test result updates to determine the best server to return for a given DNS name. The latency probe calculates the latency from its location to a client's location using the round trip time for sending a packet to the client to obtain the latency value for that client. The latency probe updates the DNS servers with the clients' latency data. The DNS server uses the latency test data updates to determine the closest server to a client.

Communications using the common object request broker architecture (CORBA) is disclosed. The communications are between a first computing device and a second computing device separated by a NAT device. The first computing device issues a request conforming to the CORBA protocol to obtain an IOR for an object from the second computing device. A first request interceptor on the first device adds a public IP address of the second computing device as user-defined data in the request. A second request interceptor on the second computing device extracts the IP address from the request and stores it. The second computing device builds the IOR for the object including embedding the public IP address of the second computing device in the IOR. The second computing device sends the IOR to the first computing device. The first computing device then establishes a successful connection to the public IP address received in the IOR.

The DNS packet format includes a header section, a question section, an answer section, an authority record section and an additional record section. In conventional DNS Queries, the header section and the question section are used; the answer section, authority record section and additional record section are empty. In the present invention, when issuing a query, the client places the question in the question section as usual, and places all the answers it already knows into the (previously empty) answer section. When receiving a query, a responder checks to make sure that the answer it is about to give is not already included in the answer section. If the answer is listed in the answer section of the query, it means that the client already has that information, and doesn't need to be told again.

Alternatively the serving entity can be provisioned with data related to NBA support in various proxying entities or domains where proxying entities are located so that the serving entity can decide to proceed with NBA procedure or not for registration received via certain proxying entities or visited networks.

A Domain Name System (DNS) 12 associates the domain name of the email server 3 with the IP address of a forwarding email server 13 and also stores the IP address of each of the primary and secondary connections in association with the domain name of the email server 3 in an MX record. When a 3rdparty email server 13 wishes to send an email to email server 3, the DNS returns the IP address of the forwarding email server 13 and the email is transferred to this server. A register 15 stores the IP address of each of the primary and secondary connections and provides the forwarding server with the IP address of the preferred connection when queried therefrom such that the forwarder may attempt to transfer the email to email server 3 via the primary connection. The register provides the forwarding server with the IP address of the secondary connection if the initial email transfer fails. Since the DNS stores the IP addresses of the primary and secondary connections, it is able to successfully verify the email server via reverse lookup when the email server 3 attempts to lookup the IP address of a 3rdparty email server 13. Both the primary and secondary connections have public static IP addresses and the latter address is provided via a SIM card which enables a Mobile Subscriber Identity to be recognised by the network infrastructure 11 as being associated with a specific IP address which can be accessible outside the wireless network.

A small wearable recall device is provided to capture images triggered by a combination of a detection of a capture condition (e.g., changes in motion, temperature or light level) followed by a relatively stable period, as detected by an accelerometer. By triggering on the combination of a detected capture condition followed by a detected stability condition, a clearer image of the environment of an interesting event is expected to be captured. The small size of the recall device makes it possible to integrate it into common portable consumer products, such as MP3 players, purses, clothing, hats, backpacks, necklaces, collars, and other human-wearable products.

A method and system for determining a device identifier assigned to a device within an installation of devices connected via a network is provided. A system determines the device identifier of a device that has been repaired and reinstalled so that the device can be placed in service. Upon receiving an indication that a repaired device has been reinstalled, the system requests and receives a possible device identifier of the repaired device from an interconnect device that connects the repaired device to the network. To verify that the possible device identifier is the actual device identifier, the system directs the repaired device to reboot so that it broadcasts its device identifier. When the repaired device reboots, it broadcasts its device identifier. Upon receiving the broadcast device identifier, the system verifies that the possible device identifier is the same as the broadcast device identifier.
