One embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus for controlling a zoetrope comprising a rotating body having one or more display means for displaying a specific image, the apparatus comprising: a sensor for sensing movement of the rotating body; a lighting unit for providing a light source to the rotating body; and a control unit for controlling flickering of the light source on the basis of the number of the display means and the speed of the rotating body. According to the present invention, it is possible to implement clearer three-dimensional images as compared with three-dimensional images implemented by a conventional zoetrope with which holographic-type continuous images are incorporated.
