According to this technique, disclosed is a method for providing the metadata for a sensory effect which comprises the steps of: generating SEM (Sensory Effect Metadata) which includes sensory effect information on contents; and transmitting the SEM to a sensory reproduction apparatus engine unit which analyzes the SEM and generates control information on a sensory reproduction apparatus, wherein the sensory effect information includes color calibration effect information on the contents.
