A composition according to the present invention was found to have an excellent anti-allergic effect. In greater detail, miquelianin was identified to restrain the generation of interleukin-2 (IL-2), interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-5 (IL-5), and/or interleukin-13 (IL-13) as tested for anti-allergic effect in vivo and ex vivo. Also, miquelianin was found to have the effect of producing IgE and preventing T cell proliferation.
