The present invention relates to recombinant E. coli producing, among unsaturated fatty acids, cis-vaccenic acid; and to a method for producing unsaturated fatty acids using the same. The recombinant E. coli producing unsaturated fatty acids according to the present invention constructs a system co-expressing 5 genes, i.e., accA, accB, accC, accD, fabD, and fabD located in one plasmid; 3 genes, i.e., fabB, fabF, and fabA, located in one plasmid; and tesA located in one plasmid. Also, the four recombinant plasmids are introduced into the recombinant E. coli (BL21(DE3) ΔfadD), which is a host strain having alleviated fatty acid reduction by removing fadD in a beta-oxidation step of fatty acid synthesis, and causes simultaneous transformation leading to a co-expression of 13 genes.
