On décrit un procédé de séparation de l'éthyl tertiobutyl éther à partir de mélanges qu'il forme avec l'éthanol. Ce procédé comprend deux étapes de distillation, la première étant effectuée à une pression p1 supérieure ou égale à 1 bar, la seconde à une pression p2 inférieure à p1 d'une valeur .DELTA.p de 0,5 à 12 bars, p2 étant alors de 0,5 à 10 bars. Le distillat de deuxième colonne est en partie renvoyé comme reflux en tête de deuxième colonne et en partie recyclé vers la tête de première colonne. L'ETBE purifié est recueillien fond de première colonne et l'éthanol purifié, en fond de deuxième colonne. Ce procédé de séparation peut être intégré à une unité de production d'ETBE comprenant l'éthérification par l'éthanol d'une coupe C4 de vapocraquage ou de craquage catalytique. L'éthanol séparé est alors recyclé vers la zone d'éthérification. A process for the separation of ethyl tert-butyl ether from mixtures which it forms with ethanol is described. This process comprises two distillation steps, the first being carried out at a pressure p1 greater than or equal to 1 bar, the second at a pressure p2 lower than p1 with a value .DELTA.p of 0.5 to 12 bars, p2 being then from 0.5 to 10 bars. The second column distillate is partly returned as reflux to the head of the second column and partly recycled to the head of the first column. The purified ETBE is collected at the bottom of the first column and the purified ethanol is collected at the bottom of the second column. This separation process can be integrated into an ETBE production unit comprising etherification with ethanol of a C4 cut of steam cracking or catalytic cracking. The separated ethanol is then recycled to the etherification zone.
