A shoehorn (1) consists of a flexible, thin material, e.g. plastic or metal, so that when in use it can change its shape to essentially correspond to the rear interior portion of a shoe where the user's heel is inserted. Its size does not substantially exceed the standard size of a bank card or credit card, so that it can be kept in e.g. a wallet. The shoehorn may comprise two or more portions (1a, 1b) which are of different shape and define shoulders or hookshaped portions (1c) preventing the shoehorn when used from sliding down into the shoe.

Method and apparatus for a shoehorn

A shoehorn having a substantially straight portion and a substantially curved portion. The shoehorn may have a length which may be between eighteen and thirty-two inches. The substantially curved portion may have a radius of curvature which is about one quarter of the length of the shoehorn. The shoehorn may have a foam pad wrapped around the substantially straight portion and which is adapted to be used to pick up the shoehorn. A method is provided including grabbing a shoehorn by a first end of the shoehorn, inserting a second end of the shoehorn into an inner chamber of a shoe, and picking up the shoe using the shoehorn.

Hands free shoehorn

A hands free shoehorn is shown and described. The shoehorn includes a guide member for guiding a foot of a user into an opening of a shoe. A handle projects upwardly from the guide member to facilitate insertion and maneuvering of the shoehorn. An entrapment member generally parallel to the guide member captures a heel wall of the shoe between the guide member and the entrapment member in sufficiently close fit to enable the shoehorn to remain coupled to the shoe in an operative position without the shoehorn being held by the user. The user may then slip his or her foot into the shoe with the shoehorn stably mounted on the shoe such that the user need not either hold the shoe horn or balance body weight on one leg while donning the shoe.

A footwear with an integrated donning mechanism allows a user to put on a shoe and a sock without bending over or overexerting themselves.
