SOLUTION: A spraying slit 3 for spraying is opened in a spray raw material tank 4 for storing a gas and a spray material and the inside of the spray raw material tank 4 is pressurized to directly spray a gas and a spray material through the opened spraying slit 3. To close the spraying slit 3, pressurized air is blown to the spraying slit 3 and the slit is closed by the pressure of the air flow. An improved cartridge structure that both heats the materials contained therein and provides for enhanced structure such that the bypass leaking of the low viscosity heated components is avoided. The cartridge is preferably formed from a rigid material such as reinforced fiberglass tubing. The wall of the cartridge is then wrapped in a flexible heating element or has a heating element cast directly in the wall thereof. The heating elements preferably heat the interior contents and epoxy cartridges to between 150 degrees and 180 degrees Fahrenheit. The wall structure may be of single wall construction with the heaters embedded therein or of a double wall construction such that the heaters are contained between an inner and outer wall. Further the wall construction is preferably formed to withstand the pressures applied when spray applying the epoxy contained therein to prevent the tube wall deformation and resulting blow by leakage. 1. A cartridge for containing and dispensing a two part epoxy material , comprising:two tubular compartments for containing each of the two epoxy components;proportional dispenser spouts positioned at an end of each of the tubular compartments; anda heating element disposed about an outer surface of the tubular compartments, said heating element plate maintaining said epoxy components within said tubular compartments between 150 degrees and 180 degrees Fahrenheit.2. The dispenser comprises an eductor for the drawing of a concentrate fluid from a liquid reservoir container into an input carrier fluid by means of the flow of the other fluid utilizing a venturi effect. In this dispenser the concentration of the concentrate fluid in the input fluid can be varied to differing preset amounts. The dispenser contains an elongated channel having an input for the input fluid and dispensing nozzle at an exit end for dispensing the chemical concentrate fluid in a diluted form. A method minimizes emissions while spraying a mixture of a resin composition and a polyisocyanate onto a surface. The resin composition has a hydroxyl content of at least 400 mg KOH/g and includes a blowing agent that is a liquid under pressure, a first polyol, at least one additional polyol other than the first polyol, and optionally a catalyst, surfactant, and water. The mixture is sprayed onto the surface to form a polyurethane foam having a closed cell content of at least 90 percent. The mixture is also sprayed through a spray nozzle at a spray angle corresponding to a control spray angle of from 15 to 125 degrees measured at a pressure of from 10 to 40 psi using water as a standard. The logic device controls spray on and spray off cycles to pulse diluent supplied to the nozzle. A method and apparatus for controlling the gas content of dispensed hot melt thermoplastic adhesive foam. Air or another relatively inert gas is mixed with molten thermoplastic adhesive, and the mixture is pressurized to form a gas and molten adhesive "solution". When the molten adhesive and gas "solution" is dispensed at atmospheric pressure, the gas is released from "solution" and becomes entrapped in the adhesive in order to form a homogeneous closed cellular adhesive foam. In order to control the gas content of the dispensed adhesive and gas "solution", in accordance with one preferred embodiment, the pressure drop across a restriction in the flow path of the solution is sensed, and a control circuit controls the addition of gas to the adhesive to maintain the sensed pressure drop at a desired level. Other sensing techniques can be used to measure a parameter of the dissolved gas/molten adhesive single phase liquid solution which is correlated to the dissolved gas content of the solution and substantially independent of the molten adhesive content thereof, such as measuring the transmittance of infrared radiation through the gas/adhesive single phase solution at a wavelength relatively heavily absorbed by the gas and unabsorbed by the adhesive.

The insert is fixed in the hose by the connectors and has a choke at its mid-point made by heat deformation. Capillary tubes are wedged into the insert, one on each side of the choke. Their other ends are wedged into the container, for holding the liq. manure, at the points. When water is flowing through the hose, it is slowed down when it reaches the choke so the pressure increases and causes a proportion to flow through one capillary tube into the reservoir. Some of the manure is pushed into the other capillary tube which takes it to the downstream side of the choke; the water leaving the insert is thus enriched with a certain quantity of manure.

A hose end sprayer comprising a sprayer lid and container includes multiple bottle connectors formed of single-ended, fixed diameter, threaded sleeves of different radii mounted on the underside of the cap of the sprayer lid. The connectors allow the sprayer lid to be connected with containers having mouths of different sizes, including containers in which liquid chemicals are sold. A liquid conduit extends across the cap between a hose inlet on one end and a spray nozzle on the other end. A siphon tube intersects the conduit within the periphery of the smallest of the bottle connectors. The siphon tube carries liquid chemical from a container connected to the sprayer lid, such as a bottle of concentrated liquid, into the liquid conduit, where the liquid mixes with carrier water entering the liquid conduit at line pressure from an external hose connected to the hose inlet. The liquid carrier water mixture is then expelled from the nozzle.

A distribution system for delivering preheated epoxy material for spray application includes a bundle of lines that terminate on their far end in a manifold. The distribution system is uniquely constructed in a manner such that it delivers the correct materials individually to the manifold while maintaining separate flows of the materials. This separation of the materials until ready for spraying prevents mixing of the two-part epoxy which at the elevated delivery temperatures would result in early curing of the epoxy within the delivery system itself. The bundle of lines contains at least one and preferably two base epoxy delivery lines, at least one catalyst delivery line, at least one heating circuit and an auxiliary heater at the manifold end. The manifold terminates in a static mixer that in turn delivers the mixed epoxy to a spray head for spray application to the substrate.

The apparatus is intended for a field sprayer arranged on a motor vehicle, with a controlled shut-off valve for a diluent and a concentrate metering pump arranged in the duct between the concentrate container and a feed valve. The metering pump, with a variable stroke, is driven by gearing with continuously variable transmission. The feed valve is arranged after the shut-off valve and is operatively connected to it such that uniform feeding of concentrate into the diluent and trouble-free operation are ensured. For this purpose, the shut-off valve, constructed as a diaphragm valve, is controlled in dependence on the quantity of concentrate passing through the feed valve. For the relief of the dynamic pressure formed above the diaphragm with the shut-off valve closed, a duct, closable by an outlet valve and connecting the retained liquid to the drain duct of the diluent, is provided. The outlet valve is operatively connected to the concentrate feed valve so that the passage for the relief of the dynamic pressure and hence for opening the shut-off valve is only released with the concentrate feed valve opened.

A spray head is disclosed having an aligned fluid conduit leading respectively to a source of pressurized water and a spray outlet. A rotatable, vertically movable valve element lies in a suitable bore in the spray head between the conduits. The valve has a horizontal conduit therethrough which merges with a vertical conduit adapted to convey liquid from a container to which the spray head is connected. A frangible locking collar lies between the head of the valve and the upper surface of the spray head holding the valve from either rotational or vertical movement towards the container. Breaking and removal of the locking collar allows for 90° rotation of the valve to unseat inwardly from a flange carried by the valve body from inwardly projecting retaining flanges carried by the spray head body thereby allowing for downward movement of the valve to puncture a seal over the container holding the liquid. This downward movement also brings the conduit in the valve into the same plane as the two conduits in the spray head. Rotation of the valve 90° back to its original orientation aligns and interconnects all the conduits making the system ready for use upon activation of the source of pressurized water.
