Реферат: A laser spectrometer is intended to be suitable for detection of gas components in a measurement sample in the ultraviolet range. For this purpose, provision is made for the emission laser radiation (2) to be fed to a non-linear crystal (20, 40, 41) which increases the nominal laser frequency to that which corresponds to the absorption wavelength of the measurement gas. Frequency tripling is produced either by propagation through an individual non-linear crystal (20) or by mixing of a frequency-doubled laser beam with the emission laser radiation (2) in a common second non-linear crystal (41). The wavelength of the laser is tuned so that the maximum or the point of inflection of the measurement-gas spectral line corresponds as far as possible with a point of inflection or the maximum or minimum of the reference-gas spectral line, and the measurement signal is obtained with the aid of derivative spectroscopy (Figure 2). <IMAGE>
