Spinning or twisting spindle with a dead spindle shank
Реферат: One apparatus of the parent Specification is modified in that the driving-member connected to the lower rotatable member 11 which supports the bobbin sleeve is rotatably mounted at its outer periphery, so that the drive can be applied at a level below the spindle-rail. On Fig. 1, (not shown), an interchangeable whorl 7 below the rail 2 is secured to a sleeve 8 secured to the member 11 and mounted on bearings 10 in a housing 6 fixed to the rail. The member 11 has a downward cup-like extension 12 on which a bunch may be wound at the drifting-stage, and which serves to protect the bearings. A brake-nut 4 and its operating handle may also be provided below the rail. The sleeve 6 serves with the blade 18 to provide the adjustment for sleeves of different lengths. In Fig.2 (not shown), the rail is of box-form and houses a driving-pinion engaging a worm on the sleeve 8; in Fig. 3 (not shown), the sleeve 8 runs in bearings in annular members set in the upper and lower rail-members and is driven by a belt from a driving-pulley. The sleeve 6 is inside the sleeve 8, and the adjustment is provided as in Fig. 1 of the parent Specification; the sleeve 8 may connect with or form the shape of an electric motor.
