Реферат: A buccal douche comprises a liquid pump driven by an electric motor, which pumps the liquid through a flexible tube to a hand piece with a tubular nozzle. The hand piece comprises control elements which shut off the flow of liquid to the tubular nozzle. A switch element on the hand piece is connected to the electric motor via conductors incorporated in the flexible tube. As a safety measure, the conductors are formed from two flexible fibre optics (11, 12). A light emitter is arranged at the end of the fibre optic (12) nearer the electric motor (5), a light-sensitive receiver (14) is arranged at the end of the other fibre optic (11) nearer the electric motor (5) and the ends of the two fibre optics (11, 12) remote from the electric motor (5) are associated with a reflector (15) which can be moved and/or tilted relative to the ends of the two fibre optics. To allow the electric motor (5) to be switched on and off and its rotational speed to be varied, the light-sensitive receiver (14) is connected to an electronic control circuit and to the power supply element.
